13:12 the acknowledgment of family matters has soothed my soul

Thanks also for timestamps in your description (i found myself drifting on the superstar portion bc I am not super knowledgeable about non beef rap) but I love award type takes/best worst lists

100 percent agree that Kendrick's win saved everyone else because the ancillary people got drake's hardest bars.

One thing the beef did for me was making my subs tab more diverse, (or the algo was promoting a wider range of ppl bc everyone was making vids). My hot take is algo feeds are not great and I prefer just going through my subs list and going i wonder what x person is doing.

We need you on Apple Podcasts! Anyways I think Doechii could also be put it for the comeback of the year bc she dropped at only 11k and fast forward her “mixtape” is nominated for 4 Grammys and she’s everywhere.

pay ur hitting the nail on the coffin but please talk about how the industry just isn’t dumping as much money into rap anymore and how warner music group is not generating close to the amount of money that UMG and SONY are generating

I think the meta for rappers to maintain long-term success nowadays is to have a die-hard fanbase that really fuck with your music
@Alx111618 күн бұрын
Sad to say because the loud die hards make all them look bad
@haechanfullsun6518 күн бұрын
@@Alx1116Trying to be a superstar is not sustainable in the long run since you not gon be hot forever. Look at the big 3 rappers (Kendrick Lamar, J.Cole, and Drake) for example. They have all maintained success for such a long period of time due to having that die-hard fanbase.
@santiagobracho596418 күн бұрын
100% agree. You need a strong fanbase which you can tour off of consistently. I think Rap is going to slowly become a more boutique niche genre the way Rock did in the 2000s. But great music can still be made.
@yahshuayoungeenthenewwave644518 күн бұрын
Exactly. That’s why guys nowadays like Rod Wave or NF who are loved by cult fanbases can go around selling out whole arena tours while Lil Baby who is a rap caviar artist with radio play all the time can’t even sell out tickets. There’s no real new mainstream star anymore that everyone collectively likes. I think Pop Smoke would’ve been it had he not passed away. The best thing to do now is find your lane and stick to it.

It was a video I saw months ago when Travis Scott was in Japan I think or china or some like that and he was standing in the street and ppl was just walking past em and I was suprised they didn’t know who he was bc how big he is so that shocked me a lot. Another thing to I think Ken Carson can get bigger than what he is if he got away from being sign to carti.

Hot Take: Kendrick Lamar should have signed Jay5ive, Mrow, or EBK Jaaybo instead of Baby Keem because they all have better lyrics, flow, and delivery and are versatile. Kendrick only signed Baby Keem because he is his cousin and wanted to help him out

The reason there is no more super star, cause us label executives aren’t trying to pay Drake 400mil for 5 albums 💀

@@user-fd8ndhe’s implying that labels don’t want a superstar because superstars demand too much from them so they rather have a lot of rappers with a lil stardom and profit of every sub genre
