[PAYDAY 2] Counterfeit stealth printing || One whole infamy level in a single stealth heist

Hey everyone! Marcmb here again. I've taken the feedback from the last 5 months, the most frequent questions, and the most common mistakes and doubts, and I have made an updated guide for Counterfeit stealth printing: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hWjUkoOepJ2CbKM The strategy is explained step by step so that it's easy to follow while you play yourself. The game mechanics and techniques used are explained in detail, and the most common mistakes are explained, so players can understand how things work and what they may be doing wrong. (X) Sometimes cop 1 will follow a different path, and go down to Mitchell's basement directly, without spotting the body bag that gets him stuck. How can we deal with that? (XI) I'm playing solo and I'm having problems with the bulldozer that spawns at the end, which can be terrible after a printing run. Any tips on how to deal with him? (XII) When the shields spawn on the boat side, there's a 72.9% chance of all three dying without shooting when you kill them, as explained in the guide. Any way to improve these odds? (XIII) Sometimes after moving cop 1 as FAQ-V explains, the cop will start sounding the alarm. Why is that? (XIV) Are there any other spots where you can place the body bags? @@richbird2700 Hey Rich Bird! Here's my usual loadout for Counterfeit stealth printing: *Secondary: Locomotive 12G.* List of mods: · BARREL EXT: The Silent Killer Supressor. · GADGET: LED Combo. (if you don't have enough concealment, you can switch this one for a Compact Laser Module -- or just remove the gadget) · GRIP: Straight Grip. · MAGAZINE: Extended Magazine. · STOCK: Tactical Shorty Stock. · AMMUNITION: 000 Buckshot. · BOOST: Team Boost. · SKIN: the new "Crypto" color that was obtained from the now removed LockeBreacher puzzle -- the settings I chose for the color are Paint Scheme: Inverted; Wear: Mint-Condition; Pattern Scale: Medium! *Primary: R93 sniper rifle.* List of mods: · BARREL: Compensated Supressor. Loud gunfire in this heist (from your or anyone else) triggers the assault! · BOOST: Probably a "TEAM BOOST" for +3% extra EXP and money reward. · SIGHT: The "Acough Optic Scope" reduces weapon sway while aiming, slightly (crouching reduces it further). · GADGET: The "Riktpunkt 45 Degree Sight" completely removes weapon sway when used (press Q to switch from regular sight to rotated sight).

@Jacket Good question! Both are very similar, essentially the same. When you have experience with it, they are literally the same thing. However, I liked v1 a bit more: it was slightly more linear, which helped understanding the mechanics involved (instead of just following a list of steps) for players attempting the strategy for the first time. The current one has a few more complications, but essentially it's still the same thing.

@Your Moderator Yeah unfortunately v1 only works for console now :( As for getting a full infamy level in Counterfeit, it's simply a matter of printing more bags! Each bag you print rewards you experience, with a bit more experience if you secure it. If you print enough, you'll get ~23,000,000 XP, which is enough to go from level 21 straight to 100! :D Note however that as far as we know it's only possible for console, as the heist has been patched on PC to go loud after you blow open the safe, so you can only stealth up to that point now.

@FranK Hey FranK! You definitely can print while playing solo, yes. As you can see from the steps in this printing video, there's no particular step requiring more than one heister, so it'll be almost as easy! The only problem is the start, where you have to kill all civilians and hide their corpses as well as place the body bags. It may be a bit intimidating to do all that in time if you're playing solo, so I made an extended video with 15 tips to do that part as efficiently as possible, which allows you to do that with time to spare, even solo :) You can check it out here kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5-qiJ-cpqt5i7M

Hey Pugsniper! I'll answer your questions point by point to make the response as clear as possible :) (1) Your English is perfectly fine! I understood everything perfectly, so no worries! (2) I'm just glad that people are enjoying this strategy, and I have fun helping everyone so that they can experience it too. Thank you for your kind words! :D (3) The fact that the phone starts to ring is a signal that the second cop patrol has been called in, which is very bad! *60 seconds after the second patrol arrives, the assault will start* and there's nothing you can do about it! What's even worse, *even if you answer the phone, the second cop patrol will come anyway* because they have already been called in. Basically, *as soon as you hear the phone, something has gone wrong and it's too late to fix it.* The good news is that it's very easy to prevent it from getting to that point: the second cop patrol will only be called in when at least one cop from the first patrol is dead or dominated. This most likely means that, after placing the C4, the friendly bots on your team become aggressive and are killing the cops, which triggers the 2nd cop patrol. You are gonna have to disable bots to play this heist! After a few dozen tries, trial and error I can safely say I can pull it off now. However, RNG isn't on my side and the helicopter just keeps "landing" in the middle of the street. The whole thing goes down the drain then and I have to redo it all. But ty for this mate, refreshes the game a bit knowing there is another loud mission possible to be done in stealth. Great work. Hahaha I like your edit :p First of all, I'm proud that you managed to keep trying through repeated trial and error, and you finally managed to complete it! Glad that you're having fun trying something new in the game! And as you realized in your edit, if you get the wrong helicopter spawn (4 spawns, with equal chance) you have to keep printing for an additional ~8.5 minutes and keep doing that until the good helicopter arrives! It's completely random, but it's okay because most lobbies are printing for a long time anyway for the exp!

(1) After you have printed the first money bag, the helicopter will keep repeating cycles of "arriving to a random position, staying, leaving" throughout the entire heist. Securing money bags doesn't affect this cycle. (2) You can stay as long as you want. (3) For 23,336,400 EXP, assuming no infamy bonuses (Infamy 0, i.e., new player) you would need 138 bags (assuming that you have a full perk deck, because everyone has one, and a crew of 4 players). If you grab the Gage packages while waiting for the objectives, the number goes down to 134, and if your 4 players have Weapon Team Boosts (you get them from drops or monthly jobs) the number goes down to 118. MAKE SURE that you are level 21 before starting the heist, or you will get an EXP penalty of up to -30%... also highly recommended to get a +25% stealth bonus beforehand, because it's gonna be very noticeable for such a long heist. Each money bag printed takes 60s, not counting the restarts and ink/paper refills. If you want more details about the experience formula, you can check the "Appendix: experience formula" on the Steam guide! (4) I don't have a Discord server for the community, because there's always a lot of messages and it's hard to keep track of all of them. It's much easier to read every single message through the KZbin interface, and this way I can read all the feedback that everyone writes!

Good question! And as you say in your edit, it's basically very random! There are four helicopter spawns, and each has an equal chance of being chosen every time (25%). The one by the pool is the one that is safe to access, and Bile's cycles last around ~8.5 minutes, so the time you'll have to wait is random. I don't mind it being a long wait though, because I usually print for a long time to get a full infamy level for my crew, then escape right after securing the loot! Sometimes we've had the good helicopter three times in a row, so it's definitely RNG!

Nice ECM rush! I enjoyed it. And also when I did big oil on Death Sentence. I found the server room on the first try and know how to get the correct engine! I also got the correct engine on the second time of doing the heist on the first try (1st attempt failed. All went into custody. 2nd I got the correct engine on the first try) it was stealth till bile. But it was all thanks to your videos on the tips on big oil!

My friend and i did this perfectly, but 3 shields spawned and upon opening the safe with the c4, the assault started. What did we do wrong?

The three shields always spawn, and there's two possible positions for them (they will camp around your escape, and there's only 2 escapes in this heist). If they spawn in Wilson's backyard, as in this video, you can ignore them because they never see anything. If they spawn by the boat, you have to kill them BEFORE placing the C4, otherwise they will definitely spot you during the printing and shoot, causing the assault to start. (simply use a sniper rifle and kill them from a distance, one by one. The R93 can do 480 damage with an easy body shot through the shield)

About the cop path: did you try it solo, or with a full crew? Even if you're solo, you can kill/hide all civilians before the cops arrive (for tips on how to do that, check this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5-qiJ-cpqt5i7M), which makes the path of that cop much more reliable. If you're talking about the small chance that he goes straight to Mitchell's basement without walking around the house, that only happens very rarely, like 1-2% of the time! As for the shields spawning by the boat: kill them! Before placing the C4, and using a silenced a sniper rifle. As long as you do it hidden and from a distance, they will not even notice you, they will turn around and look at their dead comrades without defending themselves. There's a 10% chance that each shield will shoot when they die (because they have been alerted for more than 3 seconds), so if you want to improve your odds, kill them instantly when they spawn on the boat side! (and of course, ignore them if they spawn on the backyard side) If you need anything else, or if I did not answer your questions, let me know!

Hey! By "alone", you mean without bots? If you're playing with bots, they will most likely shoot or move through windows (breaking them) when you place the C4, which will start the assault. If you're playing without bots, did you make sure, as we show in the video, that before you placed the C4, the shields had already arrived and stopped at their place, and the position of the two cops didn't update after this? It happens very rarely, but the arrival of the shields can update the AI of cop 1, which may cause him to move slightly, sometimes to a position where he can't see the body bag, so he will sound the alarm because he's no longer stuck trying to path to the body bag. If that happens, you have to move him so that he will be able to see the body bag again, and become stuck, this time forever.

The C4 trap is RNG, sometimes the basement will be rigged with C4, and other times it won't. Regardless, you can always print infinite money in stealth, UNLESS the basement is rigged with C4 and you fail to defuse it, in which case the printing machine will be broken.

Hello! I have a question: I tried doing it with my friends but the thing is, after blowing up the safe with C4 all of the marks above guards heads were gone and after a minute or so Bain said that second police patrol is coming. After that policemen became alerted and few seconds later, assault started. Is this RNG based, or did we do something wrong? EDIT: Just did it with the bois! We secured like 70-80 bags and escaped with no problem. Thanks for the video and tips!

Hey ShokAnShok! Sorry for the delayed response, but this is very simple to explain! The stealth icons disappear every single time when you drop the C4, but that's supposed to happen. The problem seems to be that obviously one of the two cops died, which caused the 2nd cop patrol to be called in. Based on the order of events you described, you were probably playing with bots (friendly AI), who become aggressive as soon as the C4 is dropped. Thus, when you placed the C4, they killed the cops and the 2nd patrol was called in (not only that, but if their weapons are unsilenced, the assault will be announced about 10 seconds later). So basically, if you want to print: disable your friendly AI! If you're struggling hiding all the bodies in time (because your interactions with bots will be slower), I have a video with 15 extra tips to be fast and efficient with the initial objectives, so that even solo players can take care of everything without bots. It can be done solo, the strategy is the same as shown in the video, but you have to do everything by yourself. The only downside is that you're gonna be the only one printing, so you'll be running around for printing materials more often!

That's true, high Crime Spree is UNDOUBTEDLY the fastest way to get infamy levels (it's not as fast if you have to raise that Spree level by yourself with a friend or a crew, but there are plenty of high-level public lobbies). However, some players don't like getting a full infamy level in a single Crime Spree heist (it feels a bit too fast for little effort) so they prefer to level up in the usual ways, like high-reward heists or endless heists. Glad you like the strategy even though you have mixed feelings about it :) Personally, I think the trick used is definitely in a gray area between bug and feature (since it relies on the fact that the AI has been programmed to walk to a suspicious object before reporting it), so I have fun using it because it's not using some weird bug like sentry glitches during assault, or out of bounds bugs... I feel like this one is more in line with the rules that the game is supposed to follow, but obviously that's just my opinion!

Kept trying for 2 hours to replicate this but solo. Finally got it. I seem to have a problem with how fast the cops arrive (1 player can barely waste all the civs, hide the bags and place bag 1 for cop #2 before the cops are inside) and cop #1. Yeah cop #1 is a pain really. idk how you moved him. he instantly starts shooting when he sees me, crouched or not. Still, pretty sweet idea and a great guide :)

First of all, congratulations on trying for a while until you succeeded! Bain warns you about the cops 15 seconds after you kill a civ (or 25 seconds after one is alerted), and 25 seconds after that the cops exit their car, and take about 20 seconds to enter the house. So yes, it is quite quick! Quite clutch for a single player depending on how the civilians are distributed with their random spawns. (4 next to the barbeque with a random chance for an additional civilian; the couple that can be in the piano room, Mitchell's kitchen, or behind the hedges; and the bikini NPC which can be outside or inside) Cop #1 is the trickiest part about doing it solo, indeed. If it weren't for that cop, it would be very easy! The fact that he shoots at you means that either: (a) You're moving too fast, so whenever he spots you, you very quickly move 1m away from wherever you have been spotted, and he considers that you're running away so he shoots. (b) You may have been spotted by cop #2 (even if he doesn't do anything to you because he's stuck with his body bag) so now the next cop that spots you within 4 minutes will be instantly hostile against you. Other than that, whenever he spots you his first reaction will always be to handcuff you, as long as you don't move 1m away from where he has spotted you. Yeah I figured it out. Wasting all civs makes cop #1 turn the corner around Mitchell's house perfectly so far and he isn't an issue anymore. Any tips on dealing with the shields? I forgot to check for a package inside Wilson's house, got to it and a shield started shooting at me, ruining my whole run and making me escape asap with just 1 bag :D

@@elite_m97 If you get the good spawn (meaning that shields spawn enclosed within Wilson's backyard so they won't see anything for the entire heist), I would let them be, even if that means that you miss out on a couple Gage packages because you can't get close (you could always get them at the very end before escaping, if you want :p). However, if they spawn next to the boat, or if you want to kill them regardless, what I usually do is I bring a silenced sniper rifle (I use the R93, but I'm pretty sure the Desertfox works as well) and kill them one by one. Even if they notice the corpses of the other shields as they die, they will not defend themselves if you're far enough. However, every time that you kill a shield, there's a 10% chance that they will shoot their unsilenced weapons as they die (as explained by The Long Guide), so if possible it's best to avoid killing them until you're about to escape.

As for the HUD, that's _PocoHud3,_ and it's showing everything you see on the screen -- the floating timers for the code lock hacks, and the drill, as well as other on-screen numbers such as: FPS meter, IRL clock, levels right next to player names, and some numbers for each player which are "Kills | Jokered enemies | Current downs | Maximum downs (before custody)". You can customize it to show or hide each of these things and more, depending on what you want!

Very true, prigadiri! You don't necessarily have to stay for the printing, you can also just get the printing plates in stealth, and escape before the assault starts :p

Hey JPG! This approach in particular doesn't work on PC anymore, but the bots were actually disabled on purpose! As soon as the C4 blows up, the heist technically goes "loud" and so the bots would instantly start moving, and very quickly move towards the cops, and shoot them. This would cause the stealth setup to fail, so bots had to be disabled for this :)

That's correct! Because I'm infamy 25, printing and securing 57 bags is enough for a full infamy level, but the number increases for lower infamies. My infamy bonus multiplier is at 2.05 (maximum value), but there's an experience formula in the guide to calculate how many bags you would need depending on your infamy multiplier, number of heisters, weapon boosts... you can check the "Appendix: experience formula" in the full guide here for more details and examples! steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2021367468

Stealth printing is also fun to try, although it's much more entertaining with company especially when some players can benefit from the XP :p

Although I hated losing all my skill sets every time I restarted to level 0, so maybe a way to keep going without having to do that would be interesting! That's pretty much what it is, yup! You can also tackle the heists with the "loud approach" (guns blazing), but I personally prefer the stealthy one. All of my videos are highly preplanned, and everyone knows what the plan is before going in, so that's how we can communicate with just the ingame chat, when needed. Glad you liked it! :)

Hey Marcmb, great video! I've been trying this for the last couple of days, but something strange has been happening and I was wondering if you knew the answer. Sometimes the second patrolling police officer that shows up will go into Mitchell's house and stand by the basement door(if you didn't get Mitchell to open it) and not move. He stands there forever, and doesn't move at all, therefore requiring a restart. Sometimes as well, when Mitchell DOES open the door and goes to the basement, the second patrolling police officer will go into the basement and simply stand there, not moving at all. His path does not change or update obviously unless detected, requiring another restart. On rare occasion as well, the second patrolling police officer WILL come inside the house and walk around, passing by the garage and WILL notice the body bags inside if you didn't put them far enough in or hide them well enough. I'm not sure if it's something I'm doing wrong, or if it's just bad RNG, but this has happened at least 3 or 4 times now. I've placed the second body bag on the stone wall as shown in your video, but as you know the second police officer likes to patrol a bit before moving onto the path of the bodybag on the stone wall. Anyways, I was just wondering if you knew if there was to avoid this or if it was just bad RNG. Thanks for everything, you make this community so much awesomer.

Hey Cosmic! That's a very nice analysis of situation, and very detailed too, so thank you! This makes it very easy to help :) Both situations that you're describing (stuck forever in front of the door, cop entering inside the house) happen for the same reason: the cop path is designed so that, under normal conditions (i.e., if he's not stopped by something done by the players) he will finish at Mitchell's basement, or in front of the door of it's closed. Thus, the thing that's giving you problems is that, sometimes, that cop will skip to the end of his path, skipping the part where he checks behind the garage and spots the body bag (becoming stuck). In my experience, this random event has a very low chance of happening (about 1 in 20 or 1 in 30 runs), but it's also a fact that the current player position affects the random cop pathfinding for some reason in this heist, so you may have found the key (staying hidden in a certain spot) to make this random event very reliable! As for the solution, either restart because of unlucky RNG (since it's a very rare event), or use the alternative body bag placement here, which causes both cops to become stuck before even leaving Wilson's kitchen: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hWjUkoOepJ2CbKM

Well in this case I recommend a carry staker just for saving a time, i know many of you will say it's unfair ,so just carry a 4 bags that is what a normal person can have .😅 As i told you before just for saving a time

Hmm in this case it might be fair because solo you can't put all your bags into the helicopter somehow. Although it's often a questionable mod, so I would recommend other mods like Bile staying in his location when he arrives at the good one...

That is definitely possible, yup :) The amount of C4 charges to defuse scales with the amount of heisters in the heist, so there are only 2 you need to defuse while playing solo, and you have 15s to do it. Thank you Dimitri! From my experience (many, many attempts...) he never gets "locked" to a single spot. There are only 4 spots (so 25% chance for each), so he may pick the same spot 2 or 3 times in a row. However, eventually he will pick a different one, and eventually he will pick the good one, where you can secure the loot in stealth. For this reason, we stack all our loot close to that drop-off point, and whenever he arrives there, we secure all the bags and then decide if we escape, or stay to print more. This approach works just fine for us, because in the worst case scenario it allows us to print quite a few bags, which is very useful for getting a full infamy level in a single heist (especially combined with a good stealth bonus).

For a few years the heist was considered to be loud only, so it was really fun to develop a full stealth approach, especially including stealth printing :D Unfortunately the devs considered the latter to be too powerful (endless rewards with no resistance after setup) so that part was patched :p

Very true teemo, well spotted! It definitely works on all heists, so if you use it properly it can be very powerful :p I think I've used it at some point, with the guard in the small warehouse, by placing a body bag on top of the drillable cage.

Thanks MADA MADA, glad you liked this one! The neighbors seeing the heisters is scripted, yes. Basically walking anywhere outside of a designated "safe zone" triggers the alarm after a 10s delay, and Bain tells you that some neighbors saw you and called 911. There's a better explanation in this other video, if you're interested: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hWjUkoOepJ2CbKM And you're correct about what you remember :) When the 2 cops of the 2nd cop patrol are dead/dominated, or 60s after they arrive, the alarm goes off, and assault starts. The phone is actually irrelevant because if you don't answer it, there's no penalty at all :p The trick we use to keep the heist in an endless stealth phase is to make sure the 2 cops from the first patrol are alive, but unable to sound the alarm. I played Payday and started playing from the first release, but stopped in 2017, as you can see I played Overwatch for a while, but also stopped in 2019. Right now I don’t have a lot of free time and not always can play my favorite console Dreamcast (yeah sometimes i love playing ancient consoles). I still love Payday, because it’s unique. But anyway here are some questions: 1. Your favorite Stealth/Load missions? (Mine Are Shadow Raid as Stealth and a lot of missions as Load but with high risk high reward) 2. I didn't recognize it at first, because I've never played Overwatch :p I agree that one of the best things about PAYDAY is that it's very unique, so even if you haven't played it for a while, sometimes it's good to go back and play for a few days :) As for your questions: (1) I play 99.99% stealth, because I don't really enjoy loud gameplay... my favorite heist is probably Election Day, because of its simple objectives and how well it can be optimized with the truck guessing on day 1, the 24 crowbar spawns on day 2, remembering the general spawns for the crates... Train Heist is really good too, and Big Bank if I'm ECM rushing. (2) I did! But only after PAYDAY 2 came out, because I hadn't heard of the franchise before then. I've only played Diamond Heist solo, because that was the only heist that I could fully stealth :p (with good RNG at the end for the vault code) (3) It really depends on what you're looking for! I really like Captain Alpha for his stealth speedruns, and M0rtifer for his high-level stealth gameplay. b33croft also has very nice videos if you enjoy his commentary, and I also like Cloud Dasher's MythBusters series! (4) I think if they keep releasing decent DLC for PAYDAY 2, while keeping the community engaged and interested, and work very hard on making PAYDAY 3 as good as it can be, the company will be able to easily be able to save itself :) (5) I think so, absolutely! It's been announced and confirmed for 2022-2023, so I'm confident that they'll be able to find good investors and release the game without delays! :D (6) PAYDAY 2 easily! I barely have time for games, so I only play this game every now and then, when I have time. But I also really liked Minecraft back in the day, Spiral Knights for its cute artstyle and decent gameplay, Blade & Soul for its combat system (it's disgustingly P2W and dead though), and Transformice for very chill and mindless gaming :p
