Not sure if its changed since this video was uploaded or if I just got really unlucky, but I didn't use the radar and just went to the vein location. I extracted the exotics, then sent them up, and the mission failed when I went back to the dropship. I think you have to use the scanner in order to complete the objectives and get the completion reward.

Yeah you have to use the radar this once for the mission objectives to tick off.

Does that mean the radar is entirely optional in that mission? Or do we still need to physically craft it to get the advancement in the objectives?

It's a good mission, not hard, pretty chilling, considering how important the mission is.

thank you thank youuu! I have spent more time on this mission than any other so far just because I couldn't find the exotic vein. Sure enough, it was at location one, in a place I never would have checked because it's not technically in the arctic! If only I found this before I wasted all those hours trudging around the southern glacier getting killed by polar bears lol...

Thanks for the video! You definitely need to craft the radar however, as I just done the mission and sent the exotics off and the mission did not get complete as I had to make the radar then send off the exotics which I didn't have anymore sadly. Love the videos though 👌🤙

Yeah, you have to craft the radar to trigger the mission on the left-hand side, but you don't need to use it, and thanks 👍

Very effecient use of the floor tile space in your house there! 😀 I usually do some 10 or 12 tile longhouse at first and then get a 25 floor tile stonehouse.

@@Fortizar i dunno i just love something about base building in the game. I done like 90% of the missions and mostly run exotics but I always craft up to t4. But its intresting to see how to do things differently. Feels like a fresh take on the game.

This mission unlocks the Extractor from the workshop. You don't need to do the mission to unlock the biofuel version in the crafting tree. It is specific in the description in the workshop. I've never done this mission and mine veins in Argos:Exploration and Agriculture:Supply Stockpile already. You do need to do the one where you mine the exotic rocks Deep Vein:Extraction. Does that one require you to use the delivery board? That would slow that mission down quite a bit if so.

This mission gives you the ability to unlock the biofuel extractor and radar. But yes, I'm fairly sure it allows you to use the one from the workshop, I'm not 100% as I did payday originally when it was released, and the ic extractor came out much longer after it. Any time you get exotics you have to use the delivery board. Yeah but to get the ic1 extractor you need exotics hence why do payday so you can afford the good drill if you want.

The delivery board is the only way to extract Exotics from any mission now, you can no longer put it in your escape pod and leave with it. So yep, you will need to craft the delivery station thingy for Deep Vein : Extraction (I just completed it yesterday)

So has anyone confirmed that you can use the workshop miner with this mission? I’ve unlocked it and wonder if I should re-run or isn’t it worth the effort? If not, what is a better mission in terms of grinding for exotics?

You can do but not really worth it to be honest, might as well run agriculture stockpile and dodge the artic completely

Will the quest update when you fully mine the node without crafting the radar or extractor? I'm gonna try mining it with the workshop extractor while watching Fortizar and hope the quest will complete for the 200 Ren.

yeah as long as you mine the entire node it updates but you have to craft the radar to trigger the next step

@@Fortizar Yea. I mined it without crafting the radar and it didnt update. Just wanted some change from Agricultural stockpile. Payday is super easy and fast if you get the node at the lake.

wooden base is kinda nice and fast to build compare to annoying cave base but you have to move fast because when big storm come you risk of losing all work station. happen to me once when i have to run to farm iron in cave and don't make it back in time to repair when storm hit.

Theres a lot of cons that outweigh the pros by doing that method, but play how you like as long as it works for you. 😊

If you have difficulty at easy you don't need stone. If you're playing on hard it's worth the grind to get to stone.

Lovely I ll try that but I have nothing of the items unlocked in the workshop so is that still doable with just crafted items ? Regarding the workshop items, you mention to have them in your inventory when you leave the mission, that means if you have them on you you lose them ?

If you leave worthshop items behind with out insuring them yes you lose them. Anything you craft on a planet, and you leave with them on you, you lose them (ie mission) but if your playing open world mode you can leave them in your base for when you next return. Everything is doable with the crafted stuff but obviously harder that's why I made that video so you can work your way through them.

@@Fortizar We tried with my brother but he went nuts on the game bugs playing multiplayer. We had 3 times in a row issue with missions not updating resulting in us giving up rather to waste more time for nothing. He actually stopped playing before the 2 hours limit on Steam and asked for a refund ... Too bad I kinda liked tha game but I have to say in just a group of two, it was a disaster like, for a game that has more than a year out that seems rather bad in my opinion. Instead of releasing contetn every 2 weeks or so maybe fix the core issue of the game, missions not updating or bugged, Maps no updating ( like litterally he streamed his map, compared to mine icons where NOT at the same place ), the Mobs that hits you when not even close to you. Anyways I might come back to it in a year when it might become stable, for now I have to say I am done as I was looking forward to play it with friends but I cannot recommend it anymore. Thanks for this and all your other Icarus guides. My friend and I are on this mission and we weren't quite sure what to do after making the radar and extractor. Looks like we will have to go into the artic. Ugh I hate polar bears

No polar bears in that artic just mammoths instead lol. You might get lucky and not get the node in the artic.
