The diamonds came from aggregate. If the larger material came from the same area as the diamonds in the bag,.then i would take a small mall hammer to them. Put the stones on a small 2x6 plank,lay a piece of cloth over the larger aggregate so broken chunks do not fly around as you crush the material. There might be a good sized diamond in the larger stone like material. Could be hardened lava if you said the aggregate was very light for its size.

Those kind of look like the rocks that remain after burning larger stove coal. We called them clinkers when we shoveled them out of the box. Kind of light, but hard.

I have tested “panning” for diamonds with a home-made “blue bowl”. These work fairly well to hold diamonds and gold. Cake bunt, cut center hole down 1” below pan edge, pipe water in from bottom at angle to flow with pan. Slow water inlet just enough to move light material. Light material will walk up center and drop out through hole. Diamonds and gold get left behind. Diamonds repel water so slower water for them.

One tool you should have when searching for diamonds is a UV light. Some (not all) diamonds will fluoresce when exposed to UV light.
@jaratt853 жыл бұрын
You can pan that just like anything else, diamonds are almost as heavy as gold so they act the same way in a pan, though a gem sieve like Dan has is likely the best method. In fact around here you have to be careful and watch for diamonds and sapphires when you are panning up anywhere in the foothills, especially on the eastern part of Bear River because during the gold rush they actually pulled thousands of ounces of gems along with the gold, silver and platinum and even small amounts of titanium. (though small comparatively was likely still in the hundreds to thousands of ounces as opposed to the hundreds of thousands of ounces of gold and silver removed)

So cool. They find little brown diamonds and the occasional clear ones near me in michigan along with a tiny bit of gold and native American artifacts. You keep the gold and diamonds you find but the artifacts go to the museum.

Well that was different.I think at the diamond crater mine in Arkansas they shake the heavystuff to the bottom, then put a mat on the top and flip it and that keeps the gemstones on top once flipped,
