All of a sudden My iphone stopped connecting to the Wi-Fi I regularly use but others were easily able to connect through their iphones. I had done the reset network setting and boom it worked. Thanks for this great video

If nothing helps and you’re reading the comments for help, try turning off or deleting your VPN configuration ( or if you don’t have any download one to your phone). My problem was that one of the configuration kept turning on and off constantly and when I deleted it my wifi worked fine.

One major point to make here is also, "Do I really need to connect to a strange wifi hotspot that, 9 times out of 10, have lowest security level?". Plus a lot of times security is turned off completely. All cell carriers offer data plans, and unlimited is usually worth the extra 20 to 40 bucks a month. Again, a lot of people think that if there's wifi, they need to connect to it. This is completely wrong, especially if you have an unlimited data plan. When wifi is off your phone works as it should (hopefully), using your cell carriers data plan. This is usually better than connecting to strange WiFi networks that usually have very low security. I only turn on my wifi if I need to upload or download massive file(s), or I know I'm going to be streaming.

You forgot to try turning your VPN off and try connecting. This worked for me above all your suggestions. Then I switched the VPN back on and all is well again😀.

Apple‘s built-in VPN is affecting many of phones as soon as I went onto my Nord VPN my Wi-Fi came back right away

@@ShizukaOG I’m really not sure but so many people have been affected by the built-in VPN it turns on and off by itself so then you can’t use your Internet when it’s turning on and off obviously so it’s best to get your own personal VPN and use that and you won’t have any issues. Well I fixed mine that way.

I've had this problem with my iPhone since last summer. It started about two weeks after an iOS update so I can't blame that. It says it's connected but does it not show it in the status bar and cellular now ONLY connects with LTE. It used to spend most of the time on 4G. Several apps say there's simply no connection. Others still work, apparently satisfied with LTE cellular data. Apple support forum has several people with older and new iPhones with the same problem. The solution we get from Apple is to 'reset network settings.' This has helped some people but not me and not a lot of the others. I hoped the update to iOS 14 might help, but it didn't. This is a jet black iPhone 7 so I'm ready to upgrade. I hope THAT will solve the problem.

I've been having to do the first option...turning wifi off/ then on, and it fixes the problem until the next time I don't use my iPhone for a while, it then reappears again. I did just reset my network settings 5 minutes ago, so it will take some time to see if that has done it, 'but' my iMac has been having a similar issue. Having had this problem off and on for some time, I took my router-modem in, and was given a new one...and I'm still having the issue, so it's doubtful it's the router-modem I believe. Unsure how to reset my network settings on my iMac, but I'll certainly give that a try! I did just do an IOS update this morning...so that shouldn't be it, plus my wife's iPhone is having the same issue, and can be very frustrating.

I had this issue and finally the Service center figured out it was a VPN app in my settings that was jamming my services... like Whatsapp, Messenger, updates installing... etc delete any VPN if you had travelled abroad, overseas and set it up

I get a "Uploading" message on some of the apps, while others just keep buffering. I had an issue not covered here that I just solved. I restored my iPhone and it had a VPN profile. Presumably because NordVPN wasn't yet installed when trying to install from backup it was not not connecting to Wifi. I had to go in and delete the VPN profile then it connected to Wifi.

Before you "Reset Network Settings", you should "Renew DHCP Lease"! So, steps should be: 1) Forget Network 2) Renew DHCP Lease 3) Reset Network Settings *Actually steps 1 & 2 can be swapped, depending on settings of Network. A lot of wifi hotspots have issues between access points and router's DHCP server and iPhones will hold on to the 'last good IP address' like grim death, by renewing the lease you're forcing your iPhone to ask for a good IP address. If it won't give up the old IP, then you need to Forget the Network

For the first determination step: You don’t need to go and check with your friend’s wifi or library wifi, just see your homies who else has a phone that uses home wifi, see if they’re connected. That’s much easier.

Your router is probably using WEP as it’s form of password security which is very old and outdated. You or your ISP will need to log into your router and change it to “WPA2” or “WPA2 Personal” which is the modern standard of wifi password security.

Im trying to figure out my problem. When I follow the steps it works just fine and my phone even works better. Then 5 mins later my phone crashed. And everything goes grey and I repeat the steps and it works then crashes. There’s no damage to my phone, nor am I full on storage. I figure it has something to do with a power cycle once it hits a log it crashes but I don’t know how to find it. Nor do I wanna lose my files. You probably wont make any revisions given this video being a couple years old but with VPNs being so common now that should be considered. I just spend hours troubleshooting to find that a Norton VPN was the culprit to my wifi connection issues.
