iPhone Can't Hear Calls Unless On Speaker? Here's The Fix!

I have an apple SE 1st Gen phone that I could only use air pods to call my husband with. This video corrected my phone because ... I had settings "phone routing "misdirected to "speaker" instead of "automatic". This video is a gift of heaven to me. Thanks !!! as I now don't have to carry around an air pod to feel safe .. I can now speak into my phone!

It's not a hardware or software issue. It's an Apple issue. THEY decide when it's time to replace your phone. I have an 11, and 2 people I know have 12's and we all have the same problem, it's extremely difficult to hear a caller. Mine started a year ago, then the other's phones started about 2 months ago. I've tried everything to fix it, numerous times. It's not the phone, it's Apple deciding that it wants my money for a new phone. Which is why I'm finally going to make the jump to Samsung

The fix that they recommended worked with the audiovisual voiceover whatever that was. The phone noise cancellation under audio visual works for me and I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max. They remember they recommended it for people with 12 or over but it worked for my 11 thank you.

Authorized Apple repair (Best Buy in my case) will fix the problem for no charge. Apple has recognized the problem as theirs. You can find instructions on where and how to get the fix on Apple iphone web page.

The screen protector was my problem... I'm shocked. I've had that screen protector on since release day of the iPhone 11 Pro Max. Never had any real audio problems until recently and I was blaming it on a software update. I just assumed since it was on there for over 4 years that it couldn't be the problem. My mind is blown.

David & David. Thanks for your service. I wondering about complaints from iPhone, breaking up, not disconnecting the phone call, lately. In my case, I have been working with AT&T for fixing it. So far there was a setting change to do the reception better. Internet improves a lot with a new router… so far so good. I trust these expensive devices. Excellent report on bugs, Thanks 👍

Great video. Fixed my inop vehicle speaker witn a new IPhone 15 promax with just a few easy steps. per your video..I called the selling AT&T store and they said they never geard of this problem. Thank you so much! For a period of time, I thought I was losing my hearing. Once I confirmed my hearing was good, the next step was to take my iPhone to Apple for a check up. I am glad I went to google asking about this issue. Your video came up. Now I can once again hear callers on my iPhone.

I have a iPhone 14 pro max, it’s 5 months old. Since I normally just use speaker phone I did not notice there was a problem with the microphone. All calls are normal when using the speaker phone function but if I turn that off and put the phone to my ear the person I’m talking to says that I sound like I’m underwater and they can’t understand me. At first I went to Apple Store and it seemed fixed for a few hours. Then it returned. A few days later I returned to the Apple Store and another tech tried to fix the issue but couldn’t even after wiping the phone and reinstalling to os again…. Apple Care will be sending me a new phone. We’ll see if that works. Please note I also changed cell provider in the middle of dealing with this because the first tech said it may be an issue with them. Changing cell provider did not fix the issue. Update: as of today, Monday, June 12, 2023 Apple Care replaced my phone with a new one. I transferred all settings and apps from original iPhone to the new replacement… the phone now works perfectly. There is now no problem with the microphone audio that call receivers were hearing when the phone is held in the “ up to the ear position “. Therefore this proves to me that it was a hardware problem with the original iPhone…..

Great video, as always. I’d like to say I’ve become a “power user“ because of your information, but I’m not there yet. The problem I am having is almost exactly the opposite of this video. Incoming calls, seemingly random numbers, go directly to voicemail. Text and voicemail seem to work fine but my phone doesn’t even register the call as coming in. No record of it in recent or missed calls. I called Apple and they are aware of the problem but I thought you guys might possibly have an answer that they’re geniuses back there at Apple have not figured out yet or at the very least you could make this problem more widely known so that Apple might actually do something about it. thanks again, I’ve been a subscriber for sometime now, and your videos have proven invaluable to me. #5 reboot works but I have to reboot like 5 times a day. Also anytime it’s like this I also get no sound notification’s also not sure it’s connected but a couple of time I get fuse errors in iTunes. Any ideas?

I have an iPhone 12 after I updated to iOS 17.3 my iPhone ear speaker stopped working completely. it happened right after the night my phone got software updated . I was very worried did everything I can searched a lot of videos. I cleaned my ear speaker with brush but no success. I watched a video on which I was told to turn on hearing aid compatibility after I turned it on I got 20 percent volume coming from ear speaker which feels like someone is speaking from a distance in the wood. from that point I updated to all iOS updates now I have reached iOS 18. I think it is a software bug because if it was a hardware issue why 20 percent volume comes when hearing aid has been turned on. apple should give a software update to resolve this issue. or if someone can help out I will be very thankful.
