iPhone Won't Turn On After Charging For Long Time? The Fix!

David & David explain how to fix an iPhone that won't turn on after charging for a long time. iPhones are designed to turn on automatically when they’re connected to a power source and have enough battery life to turn on. When your iPhone dies and you plug it in to charge, it should turn on again in about 10 minutes, depending on the charger you use.
But if your iPhone isn't turning back on, follow these steps to fix it for good.

The first thing to do when your iPhone won't turn on while charging for a long time is a hard reset. This forces your iPhone to abruptly turn off and back on again. It's possible your iPhone's software has crashed on a black screen, making it appear as though your iPhone won't turn on.
If a hard reset doesn't fix the problem, try charging your iPhone with a different cable and charger. You should also clean out the charging port of your iPhone to make sure there isn't any lint or debris stuck inside.
The last step you can take to completely rule out a deep software problem is a DFU restore. This restore erases and reloads every line of code on your iPhone and installs a fresh version of iOS. Before putting your iPhone in DFU mode, make sure to back it up first!

I left my Ipad Pro to charge while I was outside, and after coming back it just WOULD NOT turn on. I searched through the net and youtube and found out the force reset method, but no where was it mentioned for how long I have to keep holding the power button. Happened to me at 5:45am ...randomly woke from my dog snoring too loud. Saw my phone would not turn on and I would have missed an early wake up call. Tried 4 different outlets, 2 different chargers, 2 different power sources (wall & laptop), blew on the port like it was an N64 game and then found this video. Did Step 1 of this video...KEPT HOPE AS ASKED and that is what saved my phone. Please KEEP HOPE when holding the side button. When the guy said he use to see this issue when he worked at an Apple Store, that ensured creditability that he knew what he was talking about and had seen this problem before. I did the 2 volume buttons and the side button as suggested in the video. Kept HOPE for nearly 30 seconds and sure enough the Apple logo appeared and my phone was SAVED! Thank Goodness!!
