I still remember the time I've read the news of the fire and the casualties. I was gobsmacked and griefstricken. May the souls rest in peace and their families attain some sort of closure. The industry lost a lot of great persons that day.

Good to see a video of a visit to the Kyoto Animation Monument! I am Kyoto currently and paid a visit to the monument last Friday. It was definitely an emotionally heavy moment to not only see the monument but learn what the inscription said.

Well said, yeah. KyoAni are definitely about capturing reality. I remember the first time I took note of them was from the way Mirai fiddles with her glasses in Beyond the Boundary: how they slide down her nose, and how she pushes them up from the edges of her frames with half her hand covered by her long sweater. They put so much characterization in the subtlest things.
