My husband and I paid off our consumer debt a couple years ago and just tonight we were taking about how good it feels to be out of debt. I stopped buying unnecessary stuff and it feels awesome to pay cash only. I have a large medical insurance deductible, and I already have 1/3 of it in my savings account. I hope other people are inspired by you and helped by this!

In regards to getting a house, my husband and I are renting to own our home. The caveat to this is we do our own home renos and repairs. But getting knowledge helps alot. Hubby learned how to fix almost anything. But i do recommend it for those who are willing to do the work.
