I had watched this before, when it was originally posted, as Bob is my father. I'd like to thank you for this video. My dad passed away in April after a yearlong battle with cancer, and It was so nice to be able to hear his voice again. He was always at his best in his element. I miss him dearly and I know the knife world will as well.

The all steel. And the white handled bowie were both mine. After I sold him the white handle one, I quit collecting knives bc of the sale price...waste of my time to find a Bowie like that and sell it for 250$ lol. I wasn't sore at Bob though!

An amazing collection, and if anyone ever found they had the knife James Bowie carried at the Alamo, and it could be proven to have been his, it would be PRICELESS

Living around 30 miles from Sheffield, I'd love to have a collection of very early English Bowie knives.. Sadly, I don't think I could afford it,, 😢😂

The white handle bowie was mine "with the quality of casting being much better" was mine. Bob got it from me on open bidding on Ebay....for 250$. I quit buying and selling knives from that. Bc if that knife was worth 250$ I didnt need to deal in them anymore. It's a 1k++ knife.

funny thing about all these old bowie knives, not one is anything like the original, it was said to be a cross between a parang and a kitchen knife. but nobody seems to want to even consider this, instead everybody is more interested in these big thick butcher knives with a guard and a clip point, even in the historical pages the kitchen knife is mentioned the tiffany's video has a lot of them and most look like they would be better suited for carving a turkey or ham, this bug inch and a half wide quarter inch thick 10 inch blade is the market idea not the graceful thin big bellied clip point bowie's brother resen created on paper then had a smith make plus there were 2-3 different designs. these knives are either home made or market knives that were made in bulk for the civil war, i watched this whole thing and there were at least 3 that were cut down swords, probably got bent or broken and made to serve a new purpose. don't get me wrong, they are nice knives but they're not "the one"
