Hi. I need to understand something. So for the tax benefit for government employees the portion that is contributed by the government ( subsidies) is the the only amount considered for tax benefit and not the total amount one pays for the house?

The amount contributed by the government, 1/3 is tax free. The other 2/3 is fully taxable. Your portion of the house is not a benefit there you are not taxed.

Hi Sonya, I am not entirely sure. These things are normally done in accordance with your employment contract so for them to change your remunerative structure, they might need to go back to that.
