There is so much rng in mmx that it can never be fully optimized.

There will always be a new world record every now and then because of the RNG. Some players get very lucky and some don't unfortunately. The closest thing you will ever have to a perfect run is watching a TAS video. In those tool assisted speedrun videos; there will be no mistakes at all and that's what makes it perfect, except it is not being played in real time by a person. This is why TAS videos receive no credit but gives you a good idea of what perfect looks like.

There were plenty of small mistakes here and there during this run ... replicate this run minus one mistake and you have a new world record. That's how old game still gets new world records.

What makes this an any% run? All you collected was the dash and that was mandatory. Feel like this should count as a 0% or at minimum a low% run which just sounds more impressive lol. Ggs regardless 😎

Nope, low% would involve trying to skip everything at the expense of speed. Like trying to get past the leg upgrade and the Z-buster, even if it takes so much longer. Any% means you can collect as many or as little items as you need to get the run.
