EJ's father is the head of my high school bowling conference. We were actually supposed to bowl at Oak Lanes today but the match was cancelled. Him and my dad were talking and he's very happy (for lack of better words) and proud of EJ!

E.J. is really coming to his own after his first hiccups in TV appearances. Now he is a major champion. Jesper is one scary monster this season, but with this late surge, I think the Player of the Year award should go to E.J. Anyway, it will be close. And I don't know who makes the roster for the USA Weber Cup team, but if E.J. is not in there next year, they're plain crazy!

It's just like golfers who are 130lbs and can drive the ball 400 yards. It's all about the whipping motion of a golf swing or the arm/wrist in releasing the ball. Most people never learn this skill.

im a house bowler i average 220 i understand its way different out here but can i ask something when people leave washouts with head pin i know if i move 3 boards right and throw strike bowl its automatic...like 5 - 7 split is 3 boards right...why do the pros not do that and try to throw direct?????????????? like specifically smallwood at 17:50??

The rules you apply in a house shot are constant. On sport patterns moving 3 boards right might yield different results in each pattern so they prefer straight to take the pattern diferences out of play.

I wouldnt say its over, hes made 5 of the last 8 shows. Yes hes not winning every show anymore but no one wins forever. Tommy Jones had a a similar run in the mid 2000's along with wes malot. Or even Chris Barnes, he dominated 2000-2011ish making tons of shows, just because hes not winning every single time out doesnt mean his era is done. Once belmo figures out his stuggles on tv hell be back.

I feel like Belmo is not mentally where he needs to be to win tournaments. I am not happy to admit this, but it is the truth as I see it. I can tell you, this PBA (stepladder finals) TV-show was not the only one Belmo was below his level this year. He just needs to figure that mental part out, be more consistent on TV, and good things will happen. The shot-making skills certainly are there.

What do you mean? The hook? Or the guys who bowl with the 2 hander style or the no thumb style? Everyone has their own style of bowling. If the way you bowl gets you strikes, stick with that. Don't let anyone say you're bowling wrong, there's no wrong way to bowl. Just don't clench your thumb, that'll give you a sore thumb :P

Hooking it allows the ball to come in at an angle. It helps mix up the pins to get more strikes. The ball also deflects after hitting the headpin. The angled entry helps to neutralize it.

If you throw it straight the ball wouldn't hit at the right angle. Your ball goes through the two front pins and if it hits right it will drive through and knock them into eachother at a specific angle. You must not bowl much. It's good to ask questions though. :)

Ivan Sanders if it were anyone else I could understand but the kid had given it so many tries on tv to win a title and major and the pins either don't wanna go down, his opponents are kicking him in the balls and getting lucky or he throws one bad shot and can't recover.
