Congratulations on the draft! Love the challenge videos- keep them coming. I personally hate the 2-8-10 as a righty, although 3-6-10 just feels worse since it is so much more doable.
@jadenbrown48262 жыл бұрын
I like this intro better than just showing clips of what we’re about to see 3-6-10 is my least favorite spare because it should be so easy, but you will find every possible way to miss it. Also, hahahahahahaha the direct look at JR😂😂😂

Quick history you should have added it is all according to where you live, that saying of Brooklyn started in New Jersey, and for bowlers like myself who lived on the Island, Long Island, we called them Jersey shots. This was due to that you had to cross over the bridge to get to either destination from the other.

I’ve been bowling since ‘66. As the pins get worn on the bottom, that angle decreases. But from my early beginnings as a junior bowler workin with a great coach, the late Bob Blackley in Sacramento who had me averaging in the 190s when I was 18, he told those of us he worked with in depth, the lean angle for a pin to fall is only 7°-7.5° And my least favorite spare is the Greek Church, 4-6-7-9-10. I did pick it up once in ‘89 by sliding the 4 into the 9-10 and it then rolled forward to take out the 6.

My least favorite spare is the 7 pin--and I'm right handed! BTW--I lost a DougieeVision match when my opponent went Brooklyn (or Jersey as we say in NY) three times.
@MikeJones-gw2xs2 жыл бұрын
Packy what did we do back in the day when, if you were considered a really good bowler, you shot at your spares with your strike ball? You adjusted and learned how to use a "scientific spare system" to move your feet and target on the lane to convert all your spares. A good bowler didn't need a plastic spare ball even for the 10-pin (or, in your case, the 7-pin). A good bowler adjusted his hand and wrist position when shooting a 10-pin and was pinpoint accurate when shooting spares. No good bowlers switched balls to shoot a spare - it was unheard of. Spare shooting was considered an art and if a bowler had the reputation of being an exceptional spare shooter he was respected and revered by all his fellow bowlers. The sport was much more difficult back then and relied on talent, finesse and thinking rather than the "stand left and throw it right" easy conditions found today. And absolutely NO one who was considered to be a good bowler would ever dream of rolling a ball with two hands! A league average of 190+ was considered elite. USBC needs to take our sport back to those days where it took skill to excel. Are you listening Chad Murphy? Earning an ABC 300 game ring was the holy grail. Nowadays it's so commonplace that rings aren't even awarded anymore yet USBC will happily collect your annual $25 "sanction fee." It's a true shame. This is why I quit 6 years ago after 41 years of sanctioned leagues and tournaments and I retired with many fine accomplishments and honor scores. Good luck in your PBA career Packy.
@martinboyd36722 жыл бұрын
Hi Mike I remember those days , but then again the balls wasn't as strong so you could shoot at your spares with ease . Bring back the plastic ball tournament skill shots rather than rev it up and hope for the best .

Double wood (3-9 for me) is probably my least favorite, because I don't like hooking at any spares, and for this one I basically have to. I tend to get way too soft or send it too wide (I'm a bowler who alternates from no thumb to thumb).

@ianhoneycutt38582 жыл бұрын
The 2-5 is probably my least favorite. I hate everything left of the headpin, which as a right hander may not be that common, but I've hooked at all my left side spares all my life, but since I recently started throwing on sport shot I realized how useless that was.

My goal in life is to one day throw a Brooklyn 300. In high school I bowled in a center that frequently didn't oil properly and sometimes it was easier to consistently hit a Brooklyn than to hit the pocket. I think the most I got was 6 in a row.

I got here searching full time Brooklyn lol. Last week I could not throw the pocket consistently but Brooklyn easy. I'm like anyone do this intentionally "professionally"?

Already liked already subscribed lol. It's Packy, automatic thumbs up. I wonder what you could do with the original Brunswick Fury, given your fondness for the Torq. 3-10 is my least favorite spare (right handed). Add the degree to your messenger sent graphic shirt. Need To Know Facts says a pin only needs to hit 7.5 degrees in order to fall lol. At the end, all the cool kids give it back (gentlemen allowing the lady to win lol)

@ravenfuckantifa20002 жыл бұрын
Being a right-handed thumbless bowler, my least favorite non-split spare would definitely be a washout because of their awkwardness, something like a 1-10 or a 1-8, probably. 3-6-9-10s and lone 10-pins aren't so bad anymore. And before anyone asks, I can throw flatter as well as throw an inconsistent backup ball.

I bowl duckpins so my least favorite spare to make in the 10th is the 1-9. If you go slightly right of the object pin, you’ll only get 1. Same thing if you go the opposite way. Most of the time you have to get a lucky wall bounce.

The 5 10 or 57 is the most ridiculous spare that I can't get, and also because nobody could bellieve that I left it in a court of law. And they have to see it to believe it, or they won't believe it. It's just like Judy Jakes always says "Do you want to look foolish in front of a million people. And any court would see it as contempt of court or not trying at all. However it's always fun to convert it though.

I'm with maddie 3,6,9,10. 100% I've had it at least 4 times in the last 12 months and I'm yet to cover it, no prizes to guess which pin I keep leaving 😵
@janderson84012 жыл бұрын
Of so called makable spares my least favorite is the 7 pin. Unless I’m bowling lefty in which case I hate the 10 pin, but then again I hate all spare leaves lefty. If you include splits and washouts it would be the 4-6. It’s got just enough room between the pin and the gutter that it’s possible to slide one into the other, but the odds of me doing that are 1000 to 1. I threw an eight bagger once where 7 of the 8 strikes were Brooklyn.
