THAT IS TODAY'S GAME! 25 YRS AGO, YOU WOULD ONLY SEE 1 OR 2 MAKEABLES MISSED A TELECAST! SPARES USED TO BE THE NAME OF THE GAME when the shot was a lot harder. When we used to move right after a game, not only you didnt get to see the shot posted but there was a totally different shot. Most houses that week had around 4 different shots! I know that the SW REGIONALS WERE ALSO LIKE THAT BACK IN THE 80's. TODAY, THE SHOT GETS POSTED IN THE PADDOCK ONLY 1 SHOT IN THE HOUSE & NO OPUT OF BOUNDS! BACK THEN, WHEN YOU AVERAGED 215, YOU WORKED YOUR BUTT OFF WITH MAYBE 1-3 MAKEABLES MISSED THE WHOLE TOURNAMENT! TODAY, THE GAME IS SO EASY WITH LITTLE RULES FOLLOWED 3 HOUSE RATS ARE AVERAGING 250+ IN OUR LOCAL HOUSE. I USED COLUMBIS BLUE DOTS, CHARCOALS AND ROTO GRIP MIDNIGHT BLUE PLASTIC. I STILL USE PLASTIC IN MY LOCAL HOUSE. It is so dry, walled up & way too easy for me to score on. So I use blue dots & still beat most! Back in those days it was all about filling the frames, accuracy, speed control, tilt & fingers!

I've tried urethane and reactive equipment, and I personally find that I have no miss room with them. But the opposite is true with my plastic ball. I guess it's all in how you learn to throw and what you're used to.

great video, coincidentally went bowling this past weekend and finally told myself to throw my t-zone for spares , unfortunately they didn't oil the lanes and the ball hooked straight to the gutter from the 5 board, moved 10 right and still ended up hooking past the head pin, tried for a 7 pin and not even close, back to the purple hammer that actually hooked less. Sometimes i wish i could throw one handed just for 7 pins. The kr strikeforce rose ball used to be my goto for spares and first ball, but those damn plastic balls almost always tend to crack around the finger holes for me
@stompingpeak20433 жыл бұрын
Just don't rip the hell out of the ball. You don't have to try and hook It 70 boards with every throw. This is like the biggest mistake for most bowlers imo. Learning how to give the ball less revs at release or a different angle at release is a great weapon
@haynlavaboy3 жыл бұрын
@@stompingpeak2043 yea, been bowling 2 handed for about 2 years(including covid time off) 30+ years as a conventional lefty. I just need to incorporate a spare ball, since i have a 3 ball bag and just 2 purple hammers in it. majority of the time the extra space is for my sons spare ball, LOL. i use the same T-Zone and find them over hooking for the 10 pin and other various splits, i'm not sure how to combat this since i'm right handed and I don't use my thumb when I bowl (rockin' a Tom Smallwood/Tom Daughtery kind of thing). I Feel like slowing down my ball speed isn't an option, do the to revs and it ends up over hooking. I've given up on using the T-Zone and learned an Anthony Simonsen backup ball typa thing, now it just sits in my trunk waiting for a weird oil pattern to emerge.

As a no thumber who threw a 230 with the Spy, I thought the Spy would dominate. Why didn't it? This is more than just a contest between two friends. Basically, it is a "straighter is greater" vs "The big hook". Mitches down and in approach is the reason why he won. You can't hook plastic like any other cover stock. If The Pack moved left and stayed left, his strike percentage would of jumped by about 3-4 strikes a game. I want to see a rematch!

Wes Malot PROVES one thing about bowling: he PROVES you do not need to be in any kind of even good condition physically that is! Wes is a lot over weight & he wonders why he has BACK problems. I have the BEST suggestion for the BIG NASTY. go on a diet & lose around 100 lbs WES!!! this is one of the things that makes your back problem. I had a HUGE back problem not because I was over weight at all but because I was NOT real active day to day. I even had an MRI done & the back surgeon who had been a back doctor for over 18 years said I had to have back surgery to get rid of my back problem. I chose NOT & worked out to strengthen my back & I just bowled 102 games or 1020 frames of bowling in less then 9 hours & my back still feels GREAT no problem at all. my back was a little stiff for awhile but no big deal. I bowled from 12:20 to 9:20pm on 5-21-23 with an avg of a 205 for the 102 games. losing weight WOULD probably cure any type of back problem you have Wes!! IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR AGE Wes. I am 65 years old this JUNE: 6-19-2023! its NOT AGE at all Wes!!! I've bowled over 600 games since 5-5-23 today is 5-22-23. you can watch ALL my marathons bowling cuz I tape them & post them on Rumble dot com. got to Rumble dot com & type this in for a search " Learn how to become a better Straight/Hook ball bowler with the Brooklyn Crusher" I have 133 videos of me bowling 15 to the 102 games marathons. I also put the number of the marathon & the date I did that marathon...
