@@portobelloedinburgh8891 it’s a different way to play the game. Get over it; the USBC is allowing it and at the route of bowling is knocking down the most pins. However you do that, within the USBC’s rules, is a viable way to bowl.

Chris Via is the first ever bowler to bowl 2 perfect games *IN THE SAME YEAR!* Congratulations
@Ironfangzu3 жыл бұрын
Well, you mean bowl 2 perfect games ON TV in the same year. I think that Tackett, Simonson, Troupe, Prather, and every other top pro have bowled at least 3 or 4 perfect games every year. It's just rare when they do it during the TV finals.

Today I learned the first televised 300 game was in 1967. The bowler took home a $10,000 bonus. In 2021, the bonus is STILL just $10,000…
@NotQuiteEpic2 жыл бұрын
The prize for a PBA winner back then was like $3,500, though. Compare that to a $40,000 prize. The bowlers want titles; not bonuses.
@sportagus32 жыл бұрын
@@NotQuiteEpic I'm very sure the bowlers also would want bigger bonuses, and more prize money in general.
@NotQuiteEpic2 жыл бұрын
@@sportagus3 The big tournament prize funds are made up of many different contributions such as: the hosting bowling center, PBA dues, entry fees, advertising, etc. That's how it gets into 6 figures. The 300-game bonus is funded by a single advertiser, ie: Odor Eaters, Dexter, Baby Ruth, Miller. It's a cheap and easy advert spot to sell for whatever amount that leaves 10K for the bowler. It's just business to make bowling on TV a bit more exciting!

Via's 10th shot missed right..but he had a bit of miss room there and it came back to carry light. The 11th shot was too fast and the ball didn't drive, almost leaving him a 7-10. But that 12 shot, and the first 9 shots, were stone flush. He has such a smooth, powerful game. Via's going to contend for years to come.
