No, you are correct. It's common courtesy for spectators to be quiet while the bowlers are trying to concentrate. Once the ball is released then it is permissible to applaud or cheer politely. That crowd was rude and should have been ejected. Both FOX Sports One and the Bayside Bowl are encouraging unruly fan behavior. They are trying to turn bowling into a trash sport. I have contacted both the PBA and PWBA about this. You can leave feedback on their websites.

A disgraceful presentation. Both FOX Sports One and the Bayside Bowl are encouraging unruly fan conduct. It's disrespectful to be making noise while the bowlers are concentrating. FS-1 goes overboard with the flashy graphics, noise and over-analysis of the game. They are trying to turn bowling into a trash sport. I have contacted the PWBA about this problem. I see FOX Sports One and the Bayside Bowl are continuing their efforts to turn bowling into a trash sport. The crowd was unruly and obnoxious. Those so-called "fans" should have been ejected instead of encouraged. It's disrespectful to the bowlers to be making noise while they are trying to concentrate. I have contacted the PWBA about this unprofessional conduct.

The more I see of these telecasts, the less I like Randy Johnson's commentary. He's become inane and crass. His partner is even worse. Sorry, but I'd gladly go back to the team of Chris Shenkel and Nelson Burton Jr. They were a class act....these two are like a SNL sketch but not as funny.
