XLR does not mean it's stereo, inserts are not for adding sound sources. About half of what this guys says is dead wrong. He should stick to unboxing.

HAHA, That was the first thing I said to myself..., then after he says the all the xlr inputs are stereo cause they are balanced in stereo I also tuned out.

@@bloom6124 Same here! And the distance between his thumb and index finger in the video was like two inches. I was like, “Whaaaaat?”
@gaboogablah5 жыл бұрын
Its called a quarter inch because it's a quarter inch diameter, not long.
@carlferry89926 жыл бұрын
1/4" means that is the thickness (Diameter) of the plugin connector. that is about 11 mm.

Great video. Can't wait for a setup tour :) Peace!
@davidhopkins17864 жыл бұрын
Are you crazy? The 1/4" is diameter, not length. XLR is balanced, not stereo. Once I heard the misinformation about the plugs, I completely disregarded the rest of it. He doesn't have a clue.
@AdamSomersMusic12 жыл бұрын
@EarlMendoza03 That entirely depends on your buffer size in the software you use to record, and hopw low you can drop your buffer size depends on your pc's CPU. Most modern mixers (interfaces) are designed well enough to handle most of the buffering but there are still some that will require alot of CPU to allow for zero latency

@thewonkhotline Not quite what i meant. I meant a usbsoundcard yes, but not using a hub. One USBcable straight from the card to the computer, and 8 separate channels outout in the DAW. This soundcard for example work in that way: I don´t know why the mixer isn´t programmed the same way. From the page you can also see that USB 2.0 i faster than firewire 400. But firewire can be better for multirackrecordning anyway.
@gaboogablah5 жыл бұрын
XLR MONO is balanced. XLR stereo is unbalanced. TRS or quarter inch with tip, ring, sleeve or used as balanced is MONO TRS or quarter inch with tip, ring, sleeve (balanced cable) used for stereo is unbalanced.

@solohelltown yeah lad, a mixer (interface) doesnt rely on your DAW unless it is designed specifically for it.. just hook everything up and connect the main output to the KRK's by either TRS, RCA or XLR depending what you have.. go into your audio setting in FL and choose Behringer ASIO.. i dont have this mixer so i dont know if thats what it is called in there but it wont be far off that.. then on the mixer in fl set your output on the master and your good to go...

Yes your English sucks, but at least you're trying. I haven't messed with the effects send or returns yet, or read about them yet, so based on what you are saying, it seems to me that the effects in this board are applied to the channel after the effects returns.

@ElvenJustice7 жыл бұрын
You want Adobe Audition to record multiple tracks in a multi track recording? ... In that case this board is not your answer, you need some kind of multi-channel A/D converter to feed all your sources into the computer via USB MIDI or something.

@btko100012 жыл бұрын
I don't think so... 'Cause this mixer only has an USB interface... Not Firewire... If you want firewire, get a ICON xD But you can use this with condenser mics, the phantom button is on the back of the board n.n I mean, the data speed will not be the same as Firewire, but it will work :)

Hello..... Buh-ringer. Sounds like a nice deal with compression on 8 channels makes recording a no-brainer especially with the USB recording software interface. I found em new online @$299.sumpin and they say the recording software including DAW/instruments is free from their site. I was going to pay around that just for 4x4 in/out and no hands on mixer/knobs. Competitive value in there. nice show but, thought I'd see you use the software for recording. Kewdoes. Wait all......SORRY... this deal is good but it is only stereo I/O over to computer. But, you can still mix the basic tune and record anything else on other tracks/channels separately. I really want 8 record and out or even 4. Bigger Dinero I guess.

Balanced is not the same as stereo, even though it can be used for stereo audio. There's noise and impedance differences between balanced XLR and unbalanced quarter inch. XLR Mono is balanced, XLR stereo is unbalanced. Just because it's a XLR doesn't mean it's stereo. XLR are mainly MONO. That's one XLR per channel. And the MONO quarter inch contacts are tip and sleeve. There's a balanced quarter inch too, and still MONO. But they are used often for stereo. The contacts on the balanced or stereo quarter inch plug are tip, ring, sleeve. I'm guessing you don't really know that much about audio. The signal in an XLR is between the + and -, not the ground or common, that's for the shield. just to make it simple to visualize, its balanced between the + and ground and - and ground. unless like in a mic its wired between the + and ground and that makes it umbalanced. Balanced is a low impedance or 600 ohms, that's 600 ohms for both input and output impedance, and unbalanced is a high impedance input. (kohms). Its balanced output to balanced input, or low impedance output to high impedance input. The theory is for maximum power transfer. You never want the output impedance higher than the input impedance because more signal will be dropped across the output impedance, that means lower input signal. That's why there's balanced and high Z inputs. Balanced has less noise. And usually use twisted pairs and the shield is common or ground. And if the XLR or balanced is wired wrong or a wire comes off, you lose either 3dB (0.5 or half) or 6dB (half of the half, 0.75 or 3/4) loss of the signal. You shouldn't tell people incorrect information because they will think its true and tell others the wrong thing too.
