I’m a retired brickie and you talking about being cold just brings back memories of when I was serving my time standing on the scaffold with the east wind howling in right beside the sea no shelter whatsoever temperature just above freezing so we were told to work 55 years later and I can still remember how cold I was I walked about a mile home to try and get my circulation going but no avail thank goodness we had a coal fire in those days instant hot water into the bath and eventually got my temperature regulated, it taught me that only on an urgent job would I stay out in extreme cold weather

Those large Diaphragm Valves on the suction side next to the Tanks should be GONE and replaced with Full Bore Ball Valves as those are a serious restriction of the Flow, to that suction side of new booster set...that being said also a large Y strainers down stream each of same might also be required to catch any of the rubbish that could come from those really old tanks...just a suggestion...Great Work Lads...

17:52 That had me nervous. I suppose with the temps a person has some extended work time on those fittings. I see too many guys get in a pickle when all the elbows are not on the same plane. I don't envy the rework that will be required when I assume the cast pipe has to be abandoned. Such is life though. Hope things work, and prepare for when it doesn't.

Sadly we always install this booster set in bigger houses in Guildford area my boss loves them. I pretty much hate them, we also use press copper instead of Plastic, but is depense from budget. They good pumps.. as Previous comment heated jacket for this jobs.. You will love it.. I have Makita one and Milwaukee jumper 12v they are life safer.. Nice set up by the way..👍

If we had this job we would also have bene doing a C&D on the tank.

We don't fit the abs pipe its always copper , it is more expensive but less likely to burst if it freezes. Easy to work with mostly press fit. most of the fittings on the unit are parrallel threads and had trouble with the joints weeping myself. We have been fitting Lowara booster sets fully modulating pumps with auto changeover.
