I have to agree the instruction manual is just basically useless. The problem of course is it’s a manual for any equipment you could imagine that could be bolted to this set up. So you have to kind of feel your way around. So this kind of “here’s me doing it on the fly and figuring it out !” video is very helpful thank you.

I noticed one missing part (and this isn’t obvious given the bevy of screws and stuff they give you, lol) There is a black cylinder which will bolt bolt between the bottom of the PCI tray and the PSU mounting bracket, the bracket on the right side of the PSU. This cylinder prevents the PCI tray from sagging under the weight out any cards, prevents it from bending down words by resting on the PSU bracket. You’ll find a bag in the parts with a black cylinder, with a small flush fitting screw (bolts into the PSU bracket from the bottom inside edge of the bracket up into the cylinder), and another hex screw bolt, which bolts from the top side of the PCI tray into the cylinder. And here’s a tip - bolt the cylinder to the PSU bracket FIRST, using the flush mount screw from the inside of the bracket (so your PSU can slide in and out easily). If you do not screw this in now it is really a pain to try to do it on an angle from the underneath later. THEN place the right side PSU mounting bracket in place and bolt it in. Now in my build so far i installed the PSU brackets for the power supply first - then slide the power supply into the brackets and bolt in place. Don’t set the power supply on the chassis and then try to bolt around it. Far easier to install it on its own and then slide the PS you in later. Also when thinking about positioning the power supply, forwards or backwards on the “x axis”, keep in mind to leave enough space at the back of the PSU to route your cables through the grommet there, without bending them too much because the PSU is too close to the hole. Thanks again for this it was great thank you. It helped me a lot

Yep, I missed that on my first go around as well. The instructions don't identify it as such. It's the "Rear" (i.e. opposite of wall power) Power Supply Bracket. There's a gap between the rear power supply bracket and the PCI-e riser shelf. The cylinder goes into that providing additional support of the rear PCI-Express shelf. You have to remove the rear Power Supply Bracket, install the cylinder with the recesses screw (since the bracket has to rest flat against the power supply). Then, re-install the rear power supply bracket. From the top side of the PCI-E riser shelf, a standard M5 into the cylinder binds the cylinder between the PCI-e shelf and the rear power supply bracket. Giving the rear of the shelf support from flexing( bending).

You have your radiator the wrong way up. The pump needs to be below the tubes. In your situation air will sit in the pump and not at the top of the radiator causing the pump to fail prematurely.

I bought this case a few years back (in black) and it was such a pain to put together. I bought another one in white in January of 2022 and I've finally gathered up all the parts to put it together... the motherboard should be here in two days. I figured watching a video of someone putting the case together couldn't hurt, and man I'm glad I did... I didn't realize that the riser cable was different from what I actually needed (currently using a gtx1080 and upgrading to a rtx3090) so I just wanted to say thank you so much for that information!!!

I bought a Lian-Li PCIe 4.0 riser cable and it doesn't seem to have the same holes as the riser cable you suggested. Wasn't aware this could be an issue so would just highly recommend going with the Riser Cable suggested in the video. EDIT: I bought the ASUS X670E PRO WIFI motherboard...cable does not seem to fit into PCIe slot (yes I removed the plastic piece before trying to insert it into the slot) EDIT 2: I'm an idiot, I had to switch it around.

-- Late to the party, and I'm sure you know by now, but you want to flip that radiator making sure the fluid in and out on the rad is ABOVE the block/pump. This will keep air out of the pump on the block. Now I skipped around a bit, so if the pump is in the radiator, and not on the water block, forget what I said. I recently built a Corsair 5000d and this case is coming for a 'retro' rig I'm building tomorrow. Old AMD Thunderbird I'm watercooling. Really like the look of this open air case for something you don't see everyday. Thumbs up.

Better late then never. This is a common comment to the video. I think it comes from people watching the gamer nexus video on how to setup a pump and res. My pump is in the cpu block, however, the radiator is higher then the pump, so it is fine. Any air will naturally stay in the top of the radiator and not be stuck in the pump.

First time using the Riser cable, and it feels wonky. The cable seems to cover the entire motherboard. The instructions show bending the cable 180 degrees immediately after the bracket. Well, no thank you sir to that, that's insane. so, the LAST thing to install is the Riser cable from the PCI-e shelf into the motherboard so you have access to all the other PCI-e slots and M.2 slots. Oh, and in case you are wondering where to install the PCI-e Riser Cable bracket into the PCI-e Shelf, it depends on the size of your Vid card. You have to have enough slots to fit your Vid card. If you want your VID card as far from the Mobo as possible, then, counting from outside of the shelf towards the Mobo, count how many slots you need for your vid card and that's where the Riser Cable bracket gets mounted. If you have a 3 slot Vid Card, count 3 slots in and there you go.

isnt having the pipes at the bottom of the rad bad?
@Mannyocrity
@Mannyocrity Жыл бұрын
nope, it is the other way around. You do not want the hoses to be on top of the radiator. The reason is that eventually some of the fluid dissipates and can leave small air pockets. Air naturally rises to the top because it is lighter then the fluid in the radiator, so it will more likely be at the top of the radiator when mounted like I have it. If the hoses are at the top the pump will pull that air into the CPU cooler.

Great Video. This case is somewhat complicated to put together. A side not though...your radiator configuration is completely wrong. Air bubbles rise and will sit inside your pump shortening the life of your pump. radiator outlets should always sit above the pump

i am still skeptics about airflow, you can see al the sides are not closed, in most pc case four sides are closed with upper and lower fans. this does have three fans but air will just flow sideways , there is no particular exahust fan, strange
@Mannyocrity
@Mannyocrity 2 жыл бұрын
The air flow is actually not bad. The reason you have intake and exhaust fans is because most cases are closed in. You'd end up with a lot of hot air inside the case. Since this case is not closed in it does not need that. Hot air rises, so it leaves through the top. I can also confirm, I've never had any over heating issues. I'm running a rtx3080ti which generates a lot of heat. No air conditioning and the weather has gotten up in the 90s.

@@Mannyocrity than why most pc case are closed? , there may be some negative things about open air case, so why thermaltake designed it?
@Mannyocrity
@Mannyocrity 2 жыл бұрын
@@arunachalpradesh399 one issue being dust and other foreign objects. When the pc is running and someone drops something in it. Much safer to have a completely closed case. If you ha e small children, they are more likely to stick a finger where it doesn't belong and also for pure esthetics. An open case like this only looks nice if you spend time managing cables and such. Most people don't want to be bothered.
