As someone who does this for a living: The customers in the game make way too much sense. In my experience they tell you the PC was struck by lightning but they just forgot to press the Source button on the monitor. And after showing them you will be greeted by 5 fake Anti Virus programs and 10 Driver Update tools and 20 Internet Explorer toolbars.

I made over a million dollars in the game, I didn't know the 4gb ram sticks from an old computer don't match up to new circuitboards. They don't prep you for handling rigid cables leading from the SSD to the motherboard getting caught on the cooling fan, they don't prep you for bending the pins on the back of the CPU. It's an awesome game, but the devil's in the details.

100% true. Some 11 years ago I fixed a family members computer. They had like 14 toolbars and well over 10000 files to remove from 3 different scanners. I removed their iexplorer icon and renamed firefox. They never even noticed the difference. Wasn't quite as bad after that...
