Two things that my fellow Canuck did not mention. The 600T case comes with an centering alignment post/standoff (standoff pin in the case with plastic bulb-like head) for centering your mobo for ATX aligment. So don't try and push down on the mobo if the pin is not poking thru the centering hole in the mobo. The AX850 pairs the power connector for HD audio and firewire very close on the same wire. So if you have a Gigabyte mobo you will need an 1394 extender or live without 1394 in front case

It's worth noting that plugging fans directly into the power supply doesn't HAVE TO mean they are running at full-speed at all times, because there are fans with switches to control that, like the Antec Tri-Cool series. I plugged in a triple Molex connector to my modulator PSU... the two at the end went to my front intake fans, and the one in the middle of the cable for my side intake fan. All five (including the included top/rear exhaust) set to low. No RPM stats, but temps are all great.

great video! i had to watch so many different vids on youtube before i was sure i could put together my first pc. this guide is pretty much the definitive guide for putting together a pc. and a monster one at that! BUT for the H70, i think you want to plug the water pump cable into NOT the cpu fan header. and you want to plug the rad fans into the cpu fan header. i have the H50 and this is how it is done. i simple mistake, and you did say refer to the manuals. thought i would mention it.

@cardboardsnail You're thinking of RAID1, which mirrors the drives giving you only the total space of one drive. RAID0 strips a single file or data onto both drives thus doubling your total space, and increasing your speed but lowering reliability.

@math9724 dual channel means that your ram is always 2x(the amount of ram) or 4x(the amount of ram), Intels most boards support triple channel which is then like 3x1gb, 3x2, 3x4 etc etc. AMD setups only support for eg 2x1, 2x2, 2x4... etc both intel and AMD support ddr3. If you are trying to find some AMD ram, search for the ram kits which come in 2x, not 3x

@pandarello See, the reason I chose the H70 over the Frio (which I strongly considered) is that the H70 just isn't as bulky. The major advantage the H70 has over most high end air coolers is size. Had I gone with say, a Frio, or a Noctua, I would not be able to access my first dimm socket. I do plan on upgrading to a full water loop in the future, but for now, the H70 does what I need.

@EnzoMatrix452 The HD6870 was supposed to replace the HD5770. As a single card, the HD5870>HD6870. When CrossFired, the HD6870 CF > HD5870 CF due to the awesome scaling on the HD6xxx's.

@afinewaytodie NPs. I should add that the H70 is not a terrible cooler by any means. However, it IS too expensive and gets beaten by say, the Thermaltake Frio which costs roughly half. And then the Frio does not suffer failure problems. If a fan goes you get plenty of warning. If the pump on the H70 fails it's game over.

@CamdawgzXXX , electrostatic discharge, basically it is when the negative energy from your body goes to a more positive source (someone or soemthing else). This can obviousely damage eletrical parts, but it can also be prevented real simply. If you want to go realy safe buy one of those anti static mats :D static alectricity can be build up by alot of things, (even walking) so it's best to touch the case or the (plugged) power supply so you are sure that your static free

There are a lot of comps that have been built a few years ago that are still better than a lot of systems still being built as of this day. If you know what you are doing and invest the time needed in research, you won't have this problem, unless you voluntarily make that problem(I.E. OMG the new iPhone came out, I MUST GET!)

Have to be honest. I have never used a grounding strap and put no thought into where I am putting the part on and have never fried a part, hell I even laid the parts out on carpet many years ago when I was first learning about pc's with our old IBM. It depends on the person though since each person's skin has a different resistance to electricity. Some people shock things all of the time where as people like myself it almost never happens.

@GeneralMufinMan Hey man know where your at. just built my first pc... If your going to be overclocking or anything i suggest buying thermal paste and apply it to the CPU when you install it to the mobo. Most cpu coolers have pre applied paste and you must remove a plastic piece of film before installing...

My ONLY complaint is that when handling components with gold contacts (i.e, the bottom of the DIMM memory, PCI contacts, etc...), either 1) DON'T TOUCH THE CONTACTS, or 2) WEAR LATEX GLOVES. I prefer the latter. $2.00 worth of latex is a good investment for handling your expensive computer parts. Otherwise, I love this video. :)

@elpedomasgrande1 The amount of lanes on the PCI-E slot for graphics cards is always 16, yes, hence PCI-E16. However, it is common for not all of the PCI-E slots on the motherboard to run at the full x16 speed. It is common for the bottom PCI-E16 slots (if you have 3+) to be running at x8 and sometimes even x4; with the ASUS Crosshair IV Formula, running two cards in the top slots will be x16 by x16 lanes, while with three cards they will run at x8 x8 and x8. Message for more info if you want!

Hmm, in reality i cannot tell you. but it's always good to pick the newest generation as they're more advanced and produce less heat. if the gpu comparison i'm reading is correct i'd say go for the 7850. has a slightly lowered clock, but had more memory wich preforms faser and texture fill rates. if you can get them around the same price, go for the 7850 :)

@zZZzzzSnooze2nd IIRC, im pretty sure that they have something like this. They do custom builds, and also have pre-set configurations, that i think can be customized. I am pretty sure they have something very similar to this-if not, you can probably customize it to be just like the build shown here. However, if you are looking to buy all the parts and build it yourself, i dont know if they have a package. I think they may have combo rebates though,

@manjamfan The amount of RAM is not a bottleneck when it comes to computers, however the bandwidth and/or latency timings are. 6GBs of RAM is unique to Triple-Channel memory configurations (LGA1366 only currently), and more than that would be quite useless in this system. 4GB will be sufficient for any game out there, regardless of what people think. However, having more RAM definitely helps out when it comes to things like Premiere Pro and Autodesk Maya.

instead of 2 ssd's, you could just use one to boot the os from, and then get a TB harddrive instead, that way the boot would be faster, but you'd still have the storage you need for a gaming pc.

Example if you run 60fps (max for most monitors) you will hardly ever drop much compared to a single gpu droping as high as 40 fps during intensive gameplay (yes that has happened to be got a smoke grenade at my feet on battlefield).
