I hope the 120mm dual towers has a height of around 150mm or less to compete against coolers like the Fuma 2 and Thermalright Silver Soul 135. If not, I fail to see a point in this product since there is already a redundant lineup of giant coolers with the U12A, D15 and D15s...

NH-D12A sounds very exciting, but will definitely be overkill for my 5600X, which is still going strong with the Fuma 2. I bet the NH-D12A will be good with the new Alder Lake CPUs though
@treefiddy7273 жыл бұрын
I'd imagine the Noctua would be symmetrical compared to the Fuma 2 so Noctua can sell Chromax covers. Wonder if it will be offset so an NF-A12x15 will fit with two sticks of memory or a 25mm fan can be slightly raised like the front fan of an NH-D15
@TheTechBuyersGuru3 жыл бұрын
All good questions, we shall soon see. But my guess is that they'll stick with dual x25 fans to ensure extreme performance. The x15 is good, but that's not what they're going for.

Will you be doing a review of the Kaze Flex 1500 rpm and RGB models to compare to the 1200 RPM that performed so well in your case fan review video?
@TheTechBuyersGuru3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question. Right now, I don't plan on testing the Scythe Kaze Flex 1500RPM, as my case fan tests require a huge amount of setup, and I expect it will work quite similarly to the 1200RPM version (and because I mainly focus on dB-normalized testing, it might not even score differently as the 1500RPM setting might not be used in testing). As for the RGB models, no, I don't test them or any RGB models. I consider these older tech at this point. If they offered the ARGB version in the US, I would test it in my ARBG case fan test that I'll be doing next year.
@erikibarra143 жыл бұрын
@@TheTechBuyersGuru thanks for the reply. I’ll probably just stick with the 1200RPM then since those are verified top performers
@TheTechBuyersGuru3 жыл бұрын
The 1200 RPM (grey) models are also cheaper: amzn.to/3njpJp5 #ad And in all honesty, the 1500RPM limit of the black models isn't useful for case fans, as it will be pretty loud. Unless you really like the black color more, the 1200RPM grey models are a better value.
@libertyprime93073 жыл бұрын
They come in 1800 RPM mow too iirc. Personally I got the 1200 and have no use in going higher. I don't want the extra noise. I guess the extra headroom is strictly a bonus, it's headroom if you want it, maybe set a benchmark or if you use closed-back headphones or other soundproofing. Easy enough to set fan curve, but some people can't be bothered to enter BIOS.

Wow! As I always say, it's always great to see another episode of PCCN and this one was probably the beefiest one ever :] Btw I don't like your tendency of not testing products, which are not avaiable in States. Because you can't place affiliate links with them? I don't think that you aim to have US-only audience. Generally you could balance your attitude of testing what you want or find worth it with one of testing what your viewers want, especially asking them about it when you talk about some announcement or already have some product delivered - for sure some of them don't want just review available online, but your review! Like these Light Wings - be quiet! is from the best fan manufacturers on the market, so to my taste their products should be like must-review the same as ones from Scythe or Noctua. I know that it's impossible to test whatever any viewer wants, but it think it would be good for your channel to find better balance between your will and what viewers want ;)

I'm still holding out hope arctic is going to release a gpu cooler replacement soon. Is the fuma 2's reverse flow dual fan design a big gain in any terms? I've seen people credit it with the F2's comparatively silent running. Worth buying a lefthanded fan from scythe(or anyone else that makes them) to replace in any other dual fan coolers?
@TheTechBuyersGuru3 жыл бұрын
The reverse flow of the Kaze Flex 120 combined with the standard flow KF 120 Slim is the reason the Fuma 2 works so well. The fan on its own is not at all effective on coolers, as I show in my review: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jWO9mqZuh8-Wjpo

They need to make a new cooler to beat the nh-d15, another double tower cooler using dual 140mm fans that have blades shaped like A12x25's blades. Isn't this such an obvious thing to do?
@TheTechBuyersGuru3 жыл бұрын
Yup, and they delayed it until Q3'22 as discussed in the video. They already dominate sales of 140mm coolers with the D15, but are losing sales for 120mm coolers. So they are going after that market first. Noctua is insanely-competitive when it comes to both performance rankings and sales.

I've seen your older fan reviews and decided to go with Arctic P12 and P14 for my new build. Before that i considered buying the ARGB versions of those, but according to Arctic's website they are worse than the original ones! They have less airflow and less static pressure! What gives? Thank you for the reviews and your help in general!
@aeternis76803 жыл бұрын
the clear plastic in rgb fans tend to be light/softer than the solid airflow ones, so their performance tend to be slightly worse

I think the ring reduces the effective length of the blades. The performance is similar enough though. I doubt the rigidity of the blade material affects the performance, but it does affect acoustics.
