The makings of a potential online partnership of sorts I would think right? Or would that just be a "collab" at first to start with? They should do a little of that than have actual customers doing even more push for them.

I’ve been using a Blue (UPC) Cable on my Green Ports for the past 2 years. Both my ISP’s wall box and my modem have green (APC) ports. Just now I’ve noticed. Thank you! Ordered the correct one right away. Hopefully the ports were not damaged. (Note: Had no problems with my internet with this setup still was fast but I want to minimize signal loss as much as possible).
@CarloThinkPH5 ай бұрын
To add: My modem’s reference (optimal) range for RX Optical Power is -27DBM to -8DBM. With the wrong connector, I have a -26.58DBM reading. Is that in the worst end of the spectrum? Once my proper APC cable arrives and is installed, I’m going to re-check my values.

Hello and you are welcome! Yeah, this is a common mistake. Good thing you are getting the right patch cords for your setup. You had to have been experiencing some signal loss, but unknown how much. Damage is unlikely.

Xfinity responded to house service interruption and supplied new fiber optic cable but used the blue UPC whereas before there was the green APC. Should I have them return to change the connection? Thanks for the helpful video.
@trueCABLE6 ай бұрын
Hello! You have a keen eye, and we would recommend you contact Xfinity to find out why the change was made. It is possible they were correcting a problem, as opposed to introducing one.
@tomsmith57846 ай бұрын
@@trueCABLE Thanks. I will assume the UPC will technically not cause an outage for internet and cable service and is compatible to a residential application
@trueCABLE6 ай бұрын
@@tomsmith5784 Hello and you are welcome. We would not want you to assume anything, however. We recommend still checking with Xfinity to be sure the right cable is being used and the end face polish is correct for the equipment. It won't hurt to ask them!

So green is better than blue?
@trueCABLEАй бұрын
Green connectors (APC) signify angled physical contact connections, which can be better for extremely long distance and high speed applications, and are associated with single mode fiber. Blue connectors (UPC) are ultra physical contact connections, which are typically more than sufficient for the shorter distances associated with multimode fiber applications. Technically, APC (green) is superior, but you won't find it on anything but single mode fiber.

Helpful video, not sure what's wrong with the editing though. There must have been 30+ cuts or something in it, sometimes with only one or two words between each.
@ashman20237 ай бұрын
The guy speaking just probably isn’t used to being recorded so he isn’t able to do a single longer recording.. also the information is there which is what really matters.
@BrownR877 ай бұрын
Sure but the information is harder to consume when the video is cutting in one word at a time. If you can't get 3 words in a row out, maybe just take a moment and redo the whole couple sentences. Just constructive feedback.

Maybe it's about what Don says at the end these videos are mostly cut outa their blogs from the website? I haven't seen those yet but that could be part of it maybe?

Normally, Blue is UPC...?
@trueCABLE7 ай бұрын
Hello! Per ANSI/TIA 568.3-E, the connector color for UPC is blue and green for APC.
