PCA Executive Director Vu Nguyen grew up near Columbia, Maryland, close to the club's National Office, yet he was surprised to learn about a special, right-hand-drive 1960 Porsche 356 cabriolet that had lived most of its life less than a mile away from his childhood home and high school.
Don Ekwal, a longtime member of PCA and the owner of the 356, showed up to a social event put on by the local Region, and he and Vu got to talking. The reason Vu had never seen the old Porsche before is because it had been stored in Ekwal's garage for nearly 30 years. Seeing an opportunity to help a fellow member and educate PCA members, we decided to visit Ekwal, bring our cameras and Porsche expert Lewis Hauser of Karosserie Limited, and film the car's first foray out of storage.
In the video above, you'll learn the story of this British-import Porsche as well as some things to look out for if you happen to stumble upon a "barn find" 356.
