I was having the same problem with my gas cooktop and it's very concerning. After doing more research on this issue, i discovered that this issue can also be caused by a change in the air itself such as moisture and humidity. I noticed that my orange flames only occurred when I sprayed air freshener throughout the house. All four flames were mostly blue until I sprayed air freshener. After a few seconds subsequent to the spraying all flames turned orange and back blue after an hour or so. I hope this helps someone.

I had the same concern and I think my problem is from spraying oven cleaner and now its in the air. 🤞 I sure hope thats all it is. Thanks for the comment bc now I'm going to let it air out and see.

My mom's gas stove is doing the same thing. She says she's always spraying room fresheners around the stove and that her flames turn blue after 5-10 mins. Thank u for this clue. Helps save time over calling here and there.

Humidifiers in the house using tap water (not distilled) can cause this problem too. The sodium in the water vapor is the problem according to a physics website I read. I tested it, and sure enough as soon as I used distilled water in the humidifier, the stove flames were blue again!

You deserve a prize for this comment. A free trip somewhere or something.. Thank you so much. I thought i was being poisoned by a gas leak or something. Yes. I just recently started having this issue and I also recently started using a humidifier with tap water. It adds up. Turned it off the other day, the flames went back to blue, but I never made the connection. Why would I? I'm not Bill Nye.. You're awesome. Thank you.

I am having this problem but I don't have a humidifier , plus my high eff. furnace draws outside air , I still say there's something wrong with the gas mixture , hopefully the gas company will get back to me soon ...

If you use butane and propane bottled gas, yellow flames and yellow tipped blue flames with soot are usually caused by poor gas/air mixture. Butane and propane gas need significantly more air to burn cleanly. Once this is adjusted to a blue flame everything should be fine. This can also be caused by connecting appliances set for natural gas straight to butane and propane bottled gas without the appropriate conversion first to bottled gas using the correct LPG jets supplied with the appliance.

Mine burned orange. I found that it was from the humidifier. The humidifier sent calcium and sodium into the air. When burned they burn orange/yellow. Turned the humidifier off and three hours later the burners were blue!! Note the humidifier was in another room. Use distilled water now and not tap water.

I have a month-old Samsung natural gas stove that began showing orange flame tips. It happened suddenly, but was persistent. The manual says if that happens to stop using the stove and call for service! Thanks to the internet, I found the solution: the humidifier in the living room! That's right, the humidifier. I read about this online and realized I had just set up the humidifier that day. I turned it off and waited for a couple of hours. Magic: perfect blue flame!

thank you very helpful, My natural gas G.E. profile stove two front burners flames are turning yellow and produce dark soot on the bottom of my stove after 3 to 4 minutes of being turned on. The burners are not removal and I have cleaned them as much as I could.

Would you know where I can find a burner tube and igniter for a Modern Maid PHO103-UD double gas oven or equivalent parts?

You forgot another reason. I had this same issue and the issue was with the gas company. They was sending a bad mixture of gas to my home. After a week. The gas returned blue again.

Same here I know it is not my appliance because all four burners did it at the same time and after 4-5 days all four went back to blue. Did you find out what was wrong with the gas??

I am having this problem now , even my furnace which draws outside air has orange flames , this only happens in the winter for a couple of months , did you ever get your gas company to fix / change the gas ?
@hmgrffn19 Жыл бұрын
I have this issue. It December and it just started turning yellow this week. The week it got cold. I suspect the humidity could be an issue but I suspect that the mixture the gas company is sending has more air in it. It's a way to increase profit in winter.

I have a Samsung. Apparently there is no adjustment for air flow. I contacted their tech support and the info they gave was that if ALL of the burners are yellow/orange, it's probably either humidity or a change in the gas itself. In either event, it's not harmful (to the unit) or dangerous to us. I notice blackening on the bottom of my frying pan. I guess wait and see if the problem goes away when the weather changes. Or if Russia attacks, my little problem could be moot anyway.

Carbon monoxide buildup?? Meaning due to less oxygen (less air), right??
@brucethegoose204411 ай бұрын
It can be caused by your ultrasonic humidifier or essential oil diffuser, which puts minerals in the air.

Lionel is correct. I have numerous natural gas products in my home. The gas company is sending air or something with the gas causing an inefficient flame mixture. I have observed this for years and have a natural gas wall heater in my garage that is not connected or around a humidifier and all of the flames in the house the stove included have this yellow tip flame that stinks. So far the carbon monoxide detectors have not went very high. With no changes whatsoever when we get pure gas from the company the flames burn perfect blue.
