Yes and no, I only go to Universal with my daughter and for me it's not worth it. For a family of 4+ it's worth it as the extra cost for express passes is more than the extra cost to stay at the premier resorts. Also time of year makes a huge difference, off season most wait times are 20 minutes or less for most rides, during peak when the popular rides are an hour or more it also makes more sense to stay at a premeir resosrt.

@@tecwzrdstill worth it for me even if I was alone. Fast pass is per day so if you’re staying for 4 days that’s a lot of savings, the convenience of a boat ride, avoid the lines for security, closest to the park, etc. You can’t beat that!

Stayed at Royal Pacific 2 weeks ago. Express Pass was so worth it. Transformers had a 90 minute stand-by and we waited 15 minutes! We may never stay at a non-premier resort again!

We went to universal for the first time this summer and had the express included with our hotel as well. It was awesome, and I don’t know if we’ll be able to go back without it!

When I stayed at Portofino I found it faster to just walk to Universal almost every time instead of waiting around for the water taxi. There's always the possibility if there's a lot of people in front of, you can't get onto that taxi and you'll have to wait for the next one. Of course if the taxi is already there and there's not a ton of people then go for it!

UOAP has far more perks than disney AP-top pass for UO has free valet parking, free prime parking, an HHN ticket, higher discounts throughout year. all passholders get discount at hotel stays, and a passholder lounge. Disney has...free parking at parks? A small discount on food at some places? UO has discounts for nearly all food-quickservice, the refillable cup, table service, resorts quick service. Oh-and special rooms at some restaurants and food items for passholders! Disney has...park reservations? UOAP top pass also has express after four (one time per ride, not unlimited) built in...for 1/2 price of disney AP-former disney APH

Yep-we love Universal Express Pass! We used it when we stayed at Royal Pacific and going to use it again when we going to stay at the Hard Rock Hotel! We like the water taxi service at night, but use the walking trails in the morning.

We went to Universal studios last June for the first time and we stayed at the Royal Pacific, it was so nice and the water taxis were so convenient. The express passes were so worth it at that time as it was incredibly busy! Can’t wait to go back! Nice vids Dev! I try to catch them all!

Premiere hotels are definitely worth the price at Universal. I've stayed at Portofino and Royal Pacific. Royal is my favorite since it is smaller and easier to get from room to water taxi, but both are great. The Express pass is good day of check in and check out, so if you have a 1 night stay, you get two days of express pass....VERY economical for even one or two people, let alone a family, for the price of the hotel room. The premiere hotel cost is worth it to skip lines, especially when crowded.

Rumors are Florida will reach herd immunity in mid September so October should be ok.

@@ladyjane8855 Unfortunately, that doesn't work out mathematically. Florida has only had ~3 million cases, with a population of ~21 million. Even if the reported cases are way off, there's at least 10 million still susceptible (reported cases suggest 17 million). With new covid case rates of 30k/day (the current peak), that would take over 300 days to get through the low estimate of 10 million. Sad to say, this isn't getting better any time soon. :< Here's hoping. 🤞

We only stay at Premier hotels for the Express Pass! Changes your entire vacation and allows you to do SOOO MUCH! We are staying at Portofino in October in a Despicable ME suite - can't wait! Any idea when Hagrid's or the Velocicoaster will open up to Express? Great Vid Dev - Thanks!

Hagrids if wait goes over an hour will generally have virtual queue-check a couple times throughout day to get a pass. Velocicoaster waits aren't bad-went a couple weeks ago-even the 45 minute wait was ~30 minutes. And you will DEFINITELY want to go through regular lines at least once on both rides. Have fun at portofino!!

My now-husband and I stayed at this resort in 2017 when we got engaged at Wizarding World. We LOVED the resort and having the included fastpass was amazing! Just note that it’s not really “free” though… you are paying for it as part of staying in a premium resort! 😉

I’ve stayed at every “premier” level resort at Universal and it is just the best way to experience it. First of all their “premier” level is about what a Disney moderate costs and the fact that you’re in walking distance to the parks and get free unlimited express passes for everyone in your room is amazing. And the resorts themselves absolutely immerse you into the atmosphere. It’s completely underrated and an absolute bang for your buck.

We really enjoyed the water taxis as well! Although I did love the scenic walk along the water from Royal Pacific into the gates. I heard from a boat captain that the waterway has a hard bottom kind of like a pool, hence the greener, clearer water. Of course in Florida dangerous things probably still lurk in there...

We used the express passes last fall and they were wonderful! It was so nice having virtually no wait after coming from the mouse house and having to wait in lines for 45 minutes to 90 mini depending on the ride.

$400 a night doesn't even get you close to a night at a Disney deluxe anymore. Heck, we stayed at a Courtyard by Marriott right off the highway recently for over $300 a night. Universal hotels are very reasonably priced compared to other hotels.
