How can I tell if a 1888 cc Morgan silver dollar is counterfeit. Other than the mint being closed that year. Could it be possible that it was ran as a practice run before they reopened and started running the 1889 year. I was told that it was possible being that there where workers at the mint during 1888.

Lots of counterfeit coins online. Just make sure to buy from sellers who accept returns or buy certified coins

Hi I recently start into collect silver panda coins.. cuz i see many people buy it from ebay (my friend does..) n sometimes you can get really good price there...but one thing worries me is that I may get a fake one.. can anyone tell me is it possible they make a fake one like grade by ngc or pcgs and seal in a plastic case (which is really hard to open and see if it's fake...).. Thx.

They do this more with gold then silver but if it's a rarer date in a higher grade it is possible

You can always go to somebody that has a X-ray to see what the Coin is made of

@@JonSmith-yq1dw What is meant by that is, a coin shop don't just do it for people walking into their shop with a coin. It's for places who make large bullion purchases, unless they have a middle man who does that for them. A large scale scrapyard facility would have one.

What's the purpose of anyone counterfeiting a regular standard penny? There is no profit in doing so. Most likely it's a print error. But if u do believe that they are counterfeit then please feel free to send them to me and I will gladly destroy em for u.

I have a set of the war is or penny's 1943 steel pennies from each meant they are pushed in cardboard tcardboard that says war pennies from 1943 what could these penny's be worth I have a set from each minute and each mint and then I have a set from from the one The shiny shack is the full from Philadelphia from Philadelphia from San Francisco And from Delaware it is a shiny set then I have a set that says just steal sense from 1943 and they are all 3 from the Philadelphia men and those are in white cardboard and they are both in a hard plastic cis plastic case that opens from the front please comment back Thank you so very much Very interested on what they could be worth
