For new Lenovo laptop bios. Check if after bios update the Intel VMD Controller is not set to: Enabled. It may cause problems with detecting your hard drive. Set it to Disabled, And check if Sata controller mode is set to AHCI.

Great video...!!! I watched several of your videos and nothing worked. Kept getting an HD error. I took my laptop computer apart and all seven of the eight screws were loose, hence the HD became dislodged. I took the opportunity to clean the fan. Then took a picture of the RAM and HD and then tightened all screws. Success👍🏿.

It worked thank you, I unplugged everything and it worked, but I don’t know what caused it in the first place or how to fix why it thinks something else is the HD (or whatever)

You may need to adjust your boot priority in BIOS. The HDD may not be set to the first place if the computer was trying to boot off of a USB connected device.

hello i have the same problem, my booting system was legacy i changed it to UEFI i had another problem a blue screen "EFI network 0 for IPV4 boot failed", i tried booting from windows 8, but it doesnt boot, i have the same message bootmgr is missing, what should i do

My Yoga 740 wont do anything .firstly I can't get it to install anything from Microsoft it must have stopped about a year ago, so i remove the NVME drive format it and install the cloned copy i have on another NVMe , then UEFI (which is very basic) keeps wanting to boot to the cloned drive which was plugged into the USB but is now installed as the operating sytem, and, i can't see anything that will allow me to remove that reference to the external drive ,even when i change the boot sequence the next time it tries to boot the reference to the external drive goes back to the top of the boot order and I have to go into the UEFI and change it save it and repeat repeat repeat ...any ideas ?
