Thanks for this video. All these years later it's still proving to be pretty useful. I had one of these stream 13s lying around and when I checked the performance tab on Task Manager, I got mislead by the information for memory as it literally says "Slots used: 1 of 2". That pretty much implies that there is a second slot available for installing an extra RAM chip. I'm glad I checked this video and the comments, because it saved me from opening it up and wasting my time! Thanks again brother 🙏

Great video. Please can you let me know where the HDD is? Also is it possible to upgrade? Other videos have said i can install it into the WIFI card slot and then get an external wifi card to have WIFI?

To the best of my knowledge you cannot use the wifi slot to install a HDD. But I may be wrong. I just have never seen it. If, I'm correct then no, you cant upgrade the HDD in this computer :(

Yes you can do storage over internet, it's called a cloud, or theres other names for it, but yes it is very much doable

If your computer will display fine to an external monitor but will not display to its own LCD, then your most likely looking at an LCD or LCD Cable issue. Reseat the cable at both ends. If that does not fix the problem, then replace them one at a time

So u can't upgrade this kind of model its unfortunate since it has good design but I'm hoping to upgrade both ram,Hdd but it seems impossible it is possible to replace a new keyboard on this laptop?

The RAM and HDD are integrated into the Motherboard so no, they cannot be upgraded. The keyboard is difficult. Best to replace the entire Palmrest.

Since there is no hdd or ram exchange possibility, I saw on other video, someone wrote that you can plug in ssd instead of wifi card, is that true or its just lol?

@@PC_Monkey it's some kind of windows error like 0x00xxxx something, means partition error. I cant delete partitions or format them. I am assuming that my win version on pendrive is bad. I will try fresh installer 32 bit, will see if that helps.

If they sell those parts for this computer in a metal option then yes. However, I am unaware of those options existing for this model :(

That will vary based on your computer. Not all computers are the same. However, if you have the model used here in this video, you cannot upgrade either as they are integrated into the motherboard and cannot be easily removed or replaced.

It should have them. What brand and model computer do you have? Try looking under the rubber feet. They hide them there sometimes :)

PC Monkey I don’t really know what brand or model It is, I got it from my brothers girlfriend since she got it as a gift for my birthday. I can ask though, but if rubber feet are the squishy things on the bottom of my HP laptop then I will look under there.

Most of the HP stream models do not have fans or removable hard drives :(

Yes, I believe it is attached to the motherboard. If you have the ability to purchase a new one and solder it on, then that would be the cheapest fix. If you cant do that, you would have to purchase a new motherboard. Ebay and Amazon are usually good places for reasonably priced used ones :)

The cord connected to the wifi card was unplugged at 5:33. Not all computers have both a white and black wifi wire. Smaller computers like this one sometimes only have one.

Where is the number lock key on this laptop? I have getting numbers along with letters when I type. This has happened every so often and nothing resolves this. I have tried turning off and restarting, still get the same problem. I don't see a key for the number lock to try and "unlock" it.

If its not the computer, it could be the wifi router

@@Segovia-Bruno Then if its not the wifi card, it could be software related or antenna related. Make sure all updates are processed as seen here; kzbin.info/www/bejne/enXZY5qAec-Zha8. Perhaps the driver for yours needs to be updated. If thats not it, perhaps the antenna is in need of replacement.

@@simoeqr1113 Its From 2014 my guy I used to use it It. had windows 8.1 and then I updated it to windows 10 has like 2gbs of ram. It's very usable clearly not for gaming maybe light gaming such as low settings csgo. So yea its usable anyone could use it children, adults, college students. Use it for taking notes, Videos, Netflix, etc

@@cuminmedaddy2689 agree. but acually i wrote this comment in 2020, this laptop not usefull anymore.. 4gb of ram became not enough.. and why its not usefull because it doesn't have ability to upgrade ram or hard disk, ram is very cheap.. and now all college students can buy better laptops with cheap price and very good performance. and they can upgrade them in futur.
