This is great advice from Sergeant. My PCS to Germany was an extreme struggle. I’m a 34 yr old single soldier that wasn’t assigned a sponsor, my unit didn’t even know I was coming and I had no idea where to even send my unaccompanied shipment to until I got here in July. Filled out the form at transportation back in August and I just got my shipment about 5 days ago. I had no idea that sponsors can really set you up before you get here in advance. My suitemate had a struggle too, she had to wait for her luggage from the plane to get here and no one knew of her arrival too. I had to tell them. She had to wait for her orders to say her correct duty station before she could begin processing and to be seen at the clinic which she already had an injury through AIT. Pay attention to the video and make sure your unit knows you’re coming. Don’t be scared to talk with a Drill Sergeant because I had to do this for someone to reach out to my 1SG to let them know I was coming. Thank you for the video Sergeant.
