*Disclaimer: This is NOT what ALL Army Barracks look like on Vilseck. This is just what the barracks look like for this particular E6 working for 18th MP BDE (among others in the building). Your unit may have a different set up, you may have a roommate, it all depends on availability and rank. I didn't have a choice on which type of barracks to film, this is just what I showed up to 😁. To get better insight on your specific dorm layout, I would check with your sponsor. Thanks!

I was in Vilseck Aug 76' to Dec 31 1979'. My barracks was building 316. I loved it there. The parking lot between BLDG 306 & 307 was a field. Played a lot of frizbee and football there. Lots of great, The rooms have changed too. But still a great place to be. Loved it. I was SPT CO 7ACATC. Duty Assignment was Weapons Assembly Division. My MOS was 35F.

Living in a barracks environment is an daunting challenge for me. Typically, Soldiers are LOUD, and they are not clean. And the shared cooking and laundry areas would be draining to say the least. Essentially, I would have to make E7 before being assigned here to avoid this situation. ✔

So why does vilseck have massive barracks rooms with private bathrooms and double beds and Graf barracks are shared rooms not even half this size?
@DTVDanielTelevision4 жыл бұрын
Good question. This was the first time I’ve been in any barracks on post so I’m definitely not the expert on this, but from what I learned, each building has slightly different room dimensions dedicated to specific units. Roommates (at least for this building) depend on space and availability. The girl in this room said they’ve been talking about it becoming a thing. I can’t speak for what’s on Graf, I was actually told they were newer and nicer, but if you know someone in Graf who is willing to let me film inside their room, let me know! Thx ☺️
@shelbyfluker49304 жыл бұрын
Trust me, no other barracks room on vilseck looks like this 🤣🤣 The loaner furniture is broken and nasty, you don't get sofas, you get a single bed and the room is half the size. And most E4 and below have roommates.

It's all up to Germans what they want to provide. Remember, the countries where the US military is stationed is ARE PAYING FOR ALL THAT! The other countries are paying for the US military to be there.

Hello. My name is Robert and I was stationed in Vilseck Germany at Rose Barecks from 1959 to 1962. I was with the 663'rd Ammunition Oredenance Corp. Are they still stationed there? If you know please reply and let me know. I really enjoyed your vid and hope to see more. Thankyou. PS My living quarters were in old WW 2 German Cavellry Barecks.

Wow. Thanks for your service. I did a quick google search on that unit and couldn’t find it anywhere here in Vilseck/Graf. That doesn’t mean it no longer exists, it could have evolved into another unit, but I’m just not sure. You may want to take a look here: home.army.mil/bavaria/index.php/units Thanks for your support! 🙏🏽

Have tou ever been yo Semback Barracks before? If so, do E-6's have barracks? And whay do those look like?
@DTVDanielTelevision5 ай бұрын
I've been in that area but haven't filmed the barracks. If you're PCSing to the KMC (which includes Sembach), then unaccompanied E-6 and below are required to live in the barracks unless you receive a statement of non-availability from housing to live on the economy.

Hi, thanks for watching! This particular dorm is for an E6, so I would plan on a smaller twin size bed. Wouldn't hurt to pack for both :)

I’m just going to tell you how it really is in vilseck. You will have a roommate and the room will not be this large or be this nice. There is no air conditioning in the barracks. At least how it was in 2012. 610 / 614 had like 3 working dryers.

Guess there are no standards, inspections, buffers, etc. anymore. We used to have inspections weekly, and this room would be a "no-go". Welcome to the military, where we will cater to your "needs" and create soft soldiers.
