AMAZING guide! I ran into an issue in Dark Alliance 2 where a certain tavern had a massive slowdown in one end of it. Switching it to the software renderer actually fixed it completely. So I would definitely mess with your renderers when you run into slowdown guys

Extremely helpful tutorial: beautifully explained, simple and to the point. Maybe a little outdated now as the "Apply Widescreen Patches" and "Apply No-Interlacing Patches" options in the Graphics tab have been removed for whatever reason (I'm using the latest Nightly build) In any case, this is one of the best channels if not THE best as far as emulation tutorials are concerned 👍🏆

8K internal rendering with FXAA almost always looks marvelous downscaled to 4K output, though I do avoid FXAA with modern games. Using a G-Sync display, I have found it best to enable "Optimal Frame Pacing" with both duplicate frames and vsync disabled. As for dithering, "Force 32-bit" generally looks excellent though some select games are best at "Scaled."

Very helpful video, thank you for your effort. It would be good to know what those two downsampling TV shaders do, as the CRT scanline ones are quite obvious but they are the only ones explained.

You completely glossed over it here but if you set your rendering resolution above your display resolution you'll need to turn on 4xRGSS downsampling under TV Shader or else the image will still have plenty of aliasing. Also, for 99% of users the renderer should just be left on automatic unless using the software renderer.

@@thegamingprozone1941 Almost always off, if you want to remove aliasing you can always use super sampling which's cranking up the native rendering resoloution to higher than your monitor like 5x if your monitor's 1080p

These emulators are getting very nice, duckstations newer graphic options look amazing, like ps1 games looking full 4k 60fps remasters with instant load times (overclocking and changing disk speeds combined, no game ever has a load screen 😂) Pcsx2 getting the same trearment makes me very happy,

The only thing that in my opinion could improve your configuration is: in the Display tab, put Bilinear Filtering: None [the resolution is clearer, bilinear is redundant here when resizing as it already exists in the textures, here it just makes the contours less defined]

I noticed that this bilinear option in the 'display' tab is irrelevant even at native resolution, because the post-processing 'sharpen and resize' applies the exact same apparent smoothing as this bilinear option in the 'display' tab.

You didn't cover the upscaling fixes that are normally in per game settings when viewed from the menu. Per game fixes give you access to number of other settings that might help improve the picture of your current game such as the round sprite option, which is good for Gust RPGs like Ar Tonelico or Capcom's Breath of Fire V.

@@TheBestbackingtracks Wipeout Fusion. Awesome game with another awesome soundtrack. Yes NTSC is generally better as they natively run at 60hz. Some PAL games do have 60hz modes but they will need selecting/activating.

PCSX2 now (for the most part) sets any per game stuff that requires manual renderer fixes, for you. To get access to them you need to go into per game settings from the emulator pause menu when a game is loaded. There will be an option in the graphics options to 'show hardware fixes'.

yes that is probably the issue. Vulkan is generally used with graphics cards or newer hardware.

Can someone help me get Vulkan working, I have a GTX 3070 for my laptop and it's updated to the latest drivers but whenever I choose Vulkan in the drop down menu of the graphics interface I can not select my graphics card as an adapter (the option to select an adaptor is completely greyed out) so I have to use DirectX 12 which allows me to use my graphics card. I have been on Vulkan's website and it redirects you to nVidia's site for driver downloads, but again my drivers for my 3070 are up-to-date so I'm at a loss as to why I can't pick Vulkan as an option. Even when trying to run a game with Vulkan selected I get an error message when starting a game that no driver is compatible and I have to change to DirectX 12 again. Any help guys, would love to use Vulkan for the cleaner and smoother graphics settings. Thank you.

@@warpedpolygon yeah I've tested 3 and all have this flickering edge issue. When I played manhunt, if I move the camera towards the sky, the top edges of the screen flicker even more. I also get ghosting images when I play GUN only while using vulkin. What could I do to fix these things?

@@andrewromero6913 without being able to actually see the issue it's hard for me to help. With GUN just use a different renderer. Is the flickering edge thing a small line of pixels or is it a thick line? What games are doing this so I can test?
