That Goat Rocks area I think has some of the best views. No goats 🐐 this time. You all rock.

Sadly, I lost my trekking poles on this section and twisted my ankle going down the loose rock. Had to limp the 15 miles to White Pass. Glad you got down safely!

Hello Codgers. I've been following your PCT thru hike off and on this year. What an adventure! I've enjoyed your journey and wanted to wish you good luck as you move through Washington towards British Columbia! Really good luck!! I hope you enjoy the Cascades as much as I have on my visits there from Calgary. Be well and continued good fun.

You got your first real peak at the majestic mt rainier. It’s so windy up on knifes edge but I’m glad the sun came out for you a little bit. You are deep in mountain goat country. It means lots of gorgeous views when the weather permits. Otherwise you are hiking in the clouds. You got to hike on the glacier on the approach to knifes edge. Very cool. Here’s wishing you happy trails and thanks for posting

Marmalade let me know that the clouds cleared when you all went over knifes edge. So happy to hear that. Beautiful, even with the winds!

Hi Michelle! Off topic: let me know if you're up for a modest October fall colors hike, I'd enjoy hearing what you're up to these days.

Your previous video showed you at the end of day camp, but I i wasn't sure where and thought you crossed Old Snowy and the Knife's Ridge without any vistas! Now I feel better that you had a great day up there, maybe not clear views but a good mix of weather and views to get the feel for the Goat Rocks. Speaking of, did you see any goats? Maybe they were lost in the mist. Washington is pretty magical and there's more of this to come with some additional surprises. On the fires, I'm sure you have PCTA and Far Out reports, but the app Watch Duty pushes updated fire reports, including maps and closures, for each county you select (4 counties allowed in the free app and you can change the counties at any time). Of course you need a signal, but it's the best app I've seen for fast changing fires, well worth the download.

Waterfall clouds, just beautiful! The views in Washington are magnificent! I feel bad there is so much smoke while you are here. Hoping you get some good views of Rainier. She takes your breath away!

Wow, it’s so much clearer than the day before, giving you some beautiful views from the Knife’s Edge! It sounds like the howling wind blew the smoke away.

Fantastic, I am so happy for you that you finally got views, especially over Mt Rainier, amazing 😀👍 Also we are wondering if No Filter's pants are going to make it all the way up to Canada?? Suspense... 🤓

There is a photo sphere on Google maps of exactly their location. As I was virtually following the trial on the map this is one of the best vistas on the trial but here in the video all the colorful plant growth is missing. Odd how the landscape changes.

Day 132 has been absolutely amazing. So glad I didn’t have to send y’all a Dollar for every time I said WOW, because I would be as broke as a Missouri Mule right now!
@rkatrails Жыл бұрын
Wow, the vast and wide open views were extraordinary! Sure made up for all the views you missed with the smoke. Kracker Barrel looked like a nice little oasis to stop overnight.

I was wondering the same thing! I'm happy to hear everything is okay but man this made me realize I am going to be so sad when their hike is done and the videos stop. 😢
@hounddoghiker9021 Жыл бұрын
Love the vistas but it’s another Codger video that’s better watched with the sound muted unless you enjoy listening to crackles that nearly blow out your eardrums. Video sound is an hugely important part of videography and the codger stubbornness to not do something about it is the biggest negative of their channel.
@hikingwiththecodgers4086 Жыл бұрын
Some like the natural sounds so I chose to leave it to the viewer to turn down the volume.
