It is so nice to relive my PCT armchair hiking. I love seeing the familiar spots and living vicariously through your vlogs. It is always great to root for you all being an old codger myself (61).

I am loving your videos. As a 40 something who will probablay not get to the PCT until at least her 50s- its great seeing non 20 somethings out there doing it (* and doing it well!). Also, Why have I never thought about digging my cathole the night before?!

The bridge is San Diego County Road S1 (Buckman Springs Rd). Boulder Oaks Campground is at old US Route 80. There used to be a store there in the old days.

By the way, I learned the hard way not to carry shoes in my hand when crossing a stream. I stepped into a rushing stream after rains, hit a slimy bottom, went feet over butt, and my boots went flying into the stream and away they went faster than I could run. I walked the trail back to the truck barefoot. Carry boots in your pack. 😉

You guys are cracking me up! Love the other two lingering in the background with random comments. A rare southern California stream crossing! Glad you didn't get swept away in the current--haha. Go Codgers.

Hey there. Stumbled upon your vid. I’m excited for your PCT journey. I started it March 11 2020. Best decision I ever made to start early considering it’s the desert. It was a life changing journey that charted a new path for me. Good luck and have a wonderful time! Perhaps when you finish the PCT the CDT will be in your future.

Thanks for you regular posting. Today, Mar 10th had a bit of torrential rainfall in the southland. I'm really eager to see what that looked like out there in the high desert area for your day 3. Stay warm and keep on.

I’m really disappointed that Mr. Freeze had to leave the trail and attend to his house back home, and I wish him and his wife all the best with the repairs. His journal posts were excellent! I am looking forward to seeing your journey here on YT!

I didn't hear anything about Mr. Freeze leaving- though I'm glad that he'll be able to help his wife out with all the repairs.

The whole March 20th backpacker radio podcast (#193) covered hiking the Sierra's in 2023. A ton of snow hiking information

I'm curious about what you guys are thinking regarding the snowpack in the Sierra, because it seems to me that even at a relaxed pace you will get to Kennedy Meadows by mid-May, and the snow will still be deep.

We will have to bounce around closures or dangerous areas and come back to them. A little messy but almost unavoidable on the PCT. Last year it was fires. Stay tuned 😂 No Filter

If they have experience hiking and camping in snow, mid-may might be a great time to enter the Sierra; it was in 2017. All the snow meant snow bridges were still in place, and as long as you get up before dawn and stop hiking just after noon, postholing shouldn't be bad.

You’re lucky, it’s going to be cooler than usual. But,lots of snow at the higher elevations. A warm front is coming through this weekend bringing a heavy wet snow. Be ready.

It really varies depending on when they are in a town; and when the editor has time to process and upload videos.
