I've only just started following your adventure. You really are some super sympathic codgers and your videos are a great mix of "trail documentation" and funny interaction. Thanks for your effort and Happy Trails!

I hiked from Splinters cabin to that campground for my first overnight backpacking trip. Nice little place. Plus water. Glad you got a break from the snow.

Great to see that you are able to take the very unusual weather in stride. If you can get to Kennedy Meadows by mid-May, you will be iin great psoition to hike and camp on snow for the next 1,000 miles or so until you get to Oregon. Any later and you risk drowning in the huge rivers.

As a pct section hiker with 1900 miles down over a 2 year stretch, I have been watching your adventures and admire your tenaciousness in the face of adversity. You are in for some nice weather this week - enjoy a well earned break from some of the daunting days experienced thus far.

You guys are fun to watch. Glad you're keeping a sense of humor about what can only be described as one of the toughest years on the PCT I've seen. Keep up the great work and thank you for sharing!

Good idea about the sticks to hold wet socks in the sunshine. Also works as a modern art display. Wondering about a title though.

You guys are amazing! Keep on keeping on!!! I have seen people undo their waist belts and chest straps doing the bigger water crossings, so it doesnt drag you under if you do fall.

Again, we are about 120 miles west of you guys. Our very sunny and dry weather is maybe 1/2 to 1 day from you guys. Better weather is coming your way, spring is here. I see no more storms for over 10 days ahead.

Congrats on your perseverance. It's much harder to walk on snow (especially side hilling) than many people may think.

You all have a sturdy constitution and seem to have your trail legs as well. Sending prayers for what lies ahead. The water crossings may provide a fair amount of challenge and danger, That is my concern for you this year. Stay with the team you have , That is where your strength and safety lies. God bless you all. Thanks for the fun ride ! A crazy year indeed !

I / we are living about 120 miles west of you. Our weather here will be there within a day up at Big Bear area. We should be having maybe over 7 to 10 days of full sun and much warmer weather You guys make snow hiking and backpack snow camping look easy. Keep warm and dry. Hiking in that deep snow is very slow and exhausting. I thought there was someone in front of you guys? It is great to have someone in front leaving foot steps breaking the snow and making it easier to hike through the snow. Hopefully, you can get beyond Wrightwood and down into Vasquez rocks county park and out of the snow. You will be at and crossing the Mojave desert south end well before the spring heat. Again, we hike a day hike up from about 9 miles south of Vasquez rocks state park on the PCT about 13 days ago. It is all dirt and dry trail with a few water crossings.

Glad to see you’ve got a great campsite on the dirt tonight. I’ve been enjoying your PCT series. Perhaps you could share some of the Codgers background/history that led you three to hike the ACT and now the PCT.

AUDIO UPDATE No bass rumble until 3:38 Bass rumble in the background from 3:38 to 4:42 and then it disappears and the sound is crisp. The rumble comes and goes after this. QUESTIONS 1. Do you sometimes leave another app open in the background while you are using the camera? That could be the issue. Always close all other apps. 2. Do you use a handle or stick to hold the phone/camera? Maybe it’s causing the rumbles. When the audio is nice, you can hear the water and the snow crunch. It’s great. Someday you be home watching your videos on TV and you’ll think back and say, dam I’m glad that pain in the compression shorts Hound Dog kept talking about the audio quality!

STAKE: noun “a strong wooden or metal post with a point at one end, driven into the ground to support a tree, form part of a fence, act as a boundary mark, etc.” Point: Says nothing about a tent. Maybe it’s actually called an anchor?

based on the conditions you’ve had, what footwear would you say is the best- usually i do trail runners but it almost looks like a leather or gortex boot for these snow sections is ideal or has it been soupier / non-stop wet than it looks? Anyone tried a waterproof sock (i love mine in the morning until my shoes dry just so i don’t shove my feet in wet shoes, or feel the wet shoes)
