Mind you that I am your age, but your wood bench/log, etc., reminded me of my Dad! Love it! Showed to my sis and you have another +1 subscriber.

I bet the Brit called Cheddar comes from the southwest of England. Cheddar Gorge area? If not, then 'I wasn't expecting that!!!' Another great vlog.

“cajon” is a Spanish word for drawer, box, bin as many sites and cities here in California have Spanish names. The Cajon Pass has been used during thousands of years by the Native American people who lived in the area. Wagon traffic through this area as well. A lot of history as well as geographical in this area. Enjoying your videos since day 1!

You never step in the same seasonal stream twice. Greek wisdom for the PCT. Thanks for the update Codgers.

I did that hike up to the malt shop and glad I did, except the hike ‘up’. You’ll love the canyon! You guys sound like boys! Love it. I remember talking to an older guy at Kennedy meadows one morning. He had a a pensive look on his face and he said, “ oh how it feels good to be a kid again. The trail is healing in many ways.

So many others have skipped up to Acton. It’s great you gave the San Bernardino’s a try. For the most part, it looks like it worked out for you so far. Thanks for your consistent vlogs. Most enjoyable!

Was that the Malt Shop in Cedar Glenn? That's always off the PCT but wow it brings back memories. I grew up in Arrowhead and I rember walking up to the Malt Shop with my friends when I was a little kid in the early 70s.

Really good filming and comments! I section hiked around 1700 miles of the PCT over 2019 and 2020 and skipped the miles between Cabazon and Cajon Pass. It's so close to LA but so wild and gorgeous! Who knew? Thinking that the river crossings in the Sierra might not be too bad for you because you'll get there before most of the the snow melts. Happy trails!

Really pretty trail with the bridges and streams. That was quite a blow-down area! You've gotta film the places where you eat and the food. I wanted to see the malt shop. It sounded great. "Didn't see that one comin' " would be a great t-shirt. Safe hiking!

What mall shop? Where?… this is a section I haven’t been on. Wonderful deep creek. More stream crossings comin up. I’d camp down by Silverwood lake. Shhh! Don’t tell. Then you’ll be about 14 ish from cajon . Del taco across the highway. Gotta be better than mc d’s. The s is all my hiking territory. Wish I could be out there. Watch out for rattlers

Considering this season has had exceptional snowfall, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say anything labeled "seasonal stream" will probably be a lot like "didn't see that one comin'" 😂 Congrats on 300 miles!

EXCELLENT JOB. Wow this has been the hardest first 300 miles of PCT I ever seen on peoples videos. How many miles did you have to skip because of the snow? I think you all said 21miles?
@hikingwiththecodgers4086

21 as of this video, but walked more than 21 on side trails getting off and back on pct. Will probably continue north and come back to complete the official pct missed trails. Similar to what was done on the AT.

Cajon, the J, is pronounced as an has an H sound. Lol 😅 wow. Be careful put there. That was a bug blow down. I hope the clear that up soon. Yay for 300. You have a nice voice and probably could make some money being a narrator. Just saying. How long have you guys known each other and how long have you guys hiked together? Keep trekking. 😀

Question for you walking people: is the trail constantly like oblique ‘false flat’? In Holland we call it ‘vals plat’ so its litterly translated (and probibily very bad) it’s when the road looks flat but it is not. If so isn’t it very hard on you’re shins?
