PCT Day 1: Mexico to Mt Laguna 1 of 3

In 2023, in spite of record shattering snowfall in the Sierra mountains of California, I am undertaking a thru-hike attempt of the Pacific Crest Trail in an effort to complete my Triple Crown! Follow along as I see just how far the trail will let me go!

good call on the pack you will need the x-tra room and support for all the snow gear.also the bear can is way easier to haul in an osprey.

Great first start. You're going to do great with this. Back in 2019, I was in San Diego for business and was able to make over to the southern terminus for a few hours. I explored along the border wall and visited the Border Patrol memorial just a few hundred yards west of the PCT monument. Then I walked the PCT to the railroad tracks, hung a righ and walked the tracks back to Campo Store where I parked. It was a beautiful day.
