I echo the other comments…amazing day, great song, love your predictable double back for completion. Landfill and Mourning Dove have been amazing for you, nice to see them again. Stay safe out there!

Love that that doubleback is predictable for me!! Another burgeoning mantra I'm developing: "If you're not methodical, you're wreckless." Guess my method is pretty established by now for the astute viewer!! 😄

Beautiful views! That was a sweet memorial to Jodi and Jerry, well maintained, and deeply cared about, even after so many years.🏔️. I like your out-takes after the closing stats! - but ooof that fall!

I’m stuck working at my job right now, watching this on my dinner break, and that message made my day!!! Thank you! 😀 Also, gotta luv that “completionist” part you did. lol! I will probably have to jump around on the PCT too. Safety comes first, especially this year with all that snow!

Looks like you're blazing the trail for everyone else! Great job!! I'm curious whether you are wearing Hiking Crampons or Mountaineering Crampons. I plan to do Baden-Powell on the May 13th. It will be my 10th or 11th summit. Three or four of those in snow. I normally use microspikes or mountaineering Crampons. However, I just bought a pair of Hiking Crampons to replace my microspikes. I'm planning on using them next weekend. Are you using them and do you have any thoughts on them? Thanks! :)

I have carried Kahtoola K10s for the San Jacinto and Baden Powel. I was disappointed in the snow-release skins however and decided to return them (REI) and instead purchased Black Diamond Contact crampons which have a more robust snow-release system. These are the crampons Rabbit is using. The front spikes / teeth are little scarey for their Achilles-threat, but I will be wearing proper high top boots (Salomon Quest 4's) and alpine gators (Rab Muztag) which hopefully protect me a bit. I haven't yet played with any of these new components but they are waiting for me downtrail, ready to take in Sierras (if I'm able to embark straight in).

@@travelinbeat Thank you for that response. Sorry they didn't work out for you. I'll be trying mine out this weekend on San Jacinto via Marion Mountain Trail. I'm hoping to replace my microspikes in favor of the K10's. I still have and will wear my mountaineering crampons when necessary. I also bought a new pair of Obos Bridger 10" boots to use with them. They're sturdy, but not as stiff as my Mammut Mountaineering Boots. Just looking for a little more comfort without giving up too much grip and support. Any good luck going forward. Hope your finger is healing well.

You should have walked around the closure on other trails or road walked it instead of just skipping it. Continuous steps means Continuous.
