Hey impeccable timing to zero in Julian and get a snow storm. Then leave Julian on such a glorious day. Don’t sweat the idiots out there who make rude comments. It tells you more about them than it does about you. They are just speaking their own fears. Their own insecurities. You do you. You obviously love this trail. It’s why I’m still following you for my second time following you on the PCT. I’m overweight and not healthy, due to some catastrophic injuries and illnesses that caused me to suddenly gain weight and have mobility issues. I still hike. I got my poles. My stamina isn’t great. I have an extremely hard time with rock scrambles but I still hike all over CA. I love the trails too much to give up. So thanks for keeping it real but sharing your love for the trails too

I love when people offer their advice to me on how to catch a redfish. Or a bass. Just smile and act like the foreigner that speaks English, but everyone assumes he does not. Be incognito. Ask them what a thru hiker is? Be silly. Don't take it personal. They are the ones with the narrow mind. Don't join them. Don't argue with an idiot, because others will have a hard time figuring out who the idiot is. Be Daisy. Be thankful. I passed a family going uphill one day on the AT. They were all wearing shorts and short sleeved shirts. The wind was blowing about 40 mph and below freezing up top. I asked the guy dropping them off if he was going to let them go up there like that. He said he begged them not to do it. So basically, you can try, but you cannot fix stupid. Be Daisy.

Please do me a favor as mayor you cross paths with them. A Leslie singleton and her daughter both blonde hair heading north also. She posted daily several days and now it’s 8 days and nothing. I watch all of you hikers from my home as I’m disabled veteran but I follow all of you each year. Trying to get more involved with helping any way I can

I’m sure they just don’t have good service to upload the videos. Sometimes it can be hard to upload videos even in town due to the lack of service/ good WiFi. I’m sure they’re fine. Very sweet of you to worry about them though 💗 I’m sure they will post something once they have good service. Glad you enjoy hiker videos! That’s the reason I post them!

When u meet people who r not experienced hikers, they have no clue how wonderful it is to hike alone. I am a woman and I stopped telling people what I was doing because I would get the same reaction u did. U have to ignore them and just keep doing what makes u happy.

Definitely learning to just let other peoples thoughts and opinions of me roll off my back. Sometimes it’s hard to ignore these opinions while alone on trail (have lots of time to overthink things while on trail) ….but I just have to. 💖💖💖💖💖

I actually don’t like hiking with anyone! All the trail families I’ve had I usually hike alone and just meet at camp. I like having people to be at camp with at the end of the day and have people to spend time with in towns when doing laundry etc. I actually hate hiking with people 🤣

It wouldn’t hurt for you to be a little judgmental… of these know-it-alls who have never completed a trail in their life and too dumb to notice when they’re in the presence of a superior hiking athlete. You are among the very few elite hikers who have completed as many trails as you. Never forget that.

I'm sorry you experience that sexism. That's total bs. But you're right, people treat people differently if they are a man or a woman. I've been both. I'm transgender and it was very very shocking how differently people treated me because I was seen as a woman, or as a butch woman, or as a feminine man, or as a butch man. I've been a hiker in all these different gendered bodies and the way people treat you based on what they see is just ridiculous. I've also been a hiker in different body sizes, from 220lb to 150lb, and they do treat you differently then too. Social constructs of gender and bodies have got to go. Stay strong, you're stronger than most people I know no matter what gender or body type they are and that's what I appreciate about you. 💚

What do you think, if you are a small woman riding a big heavy motorbike and then meet this kind of biker, what kind of incredulous questions and advice will rain down on you.
