PCV valve replacement Nissan Sentra 2014

This is how to replace a PCV. This one has 170k miles and ran excellent but had occasional hesitation. New plugs at 160k. Just cleaned Throttle body last month. It had a huge carbon ring and had rough idle occasionally.

Your welcome. Glad it helped. I made because the Factory service manual said it was near Throttle body. Which is confusing. Dealers have a min charge. They charge labor per part. Well they did when I was a Mechanic in 1989. I do 99% of my own work since.

I have a 14 Sentra with 100k, it has never given me problems. Just oil changes. My question is, should I change the transmission fluid if I haven’t done it before?

It should be changed every 30k miles.

Do you have any issues with your Mass air flow sensor? After I hit 110k on my 2014 sentra SR I got the check engine light and keep having it come up. I been through 4 different sensors .

@@LA562mike its probably a dirty throttle body. There is some issues with the pcv system causing dirty throttle body on nissans.

Same make and model mine shudders when accelerating and when the gears are about to change I’ve cleaned the throttle body maf sensor and I am going to change the PCV valve to see if it fixes the issue. I also want to check ignition coils and spark plugs hopefully this will fix my issue. Have you had this problem before? Thanks

No, how many miles? the coils should trigger a CEL if bad. I have no gears, its a CVT.

Hey I was wondering if the o ring on the pcv valve also known as the grommet is supposed to be lubricated before you install it.

Would not hurt. But its not that critical of a seal. Its just hot air flowing through this valve.

All depends on driving style and gas quality etc. There is no mention in the service manual on interval. There is no picture either. Only mentions the PCV hose.

No. Just cleaned and reinstalled. Runs perfect still.

160 thousand so does mine I just did this also. How's your cvt has it been changed or do u take care of it cha ge fluid every 30 to 40k I do and it's still good. The dealer will tell ya ita lifetime and I t sure isn't

I bought with 160k. 195k now, I change oil every year, by just drain and refill. I have a video of that process.

Yea I do mine every 30k about a year to. That vibration u had inhad something similar a terrible rattle I litteraly have jacked the car up 10 times trying to pin point it. Ita sound so bad and its random . Makes the engine vibrate. I finally found the issue the upper links on subframe were loose and clanking and the bottom engine mount is connected to subframe so the loose links ( not the end links) make thst bottom mount not work all the way so makes engine vibrate and driving it a bad rattle.

@@jessegoodspeed5076 My vibration was low idle. Once I cleaned the throttle body, it was smooth. The is only 1 motor mount, which is still solid.

Hello I don't know if you will read this. But can you or someone help me. I got the same issue 2 times before, I got part on autozone and one oem part off somewhere else. And the light came back on. Now I got one from the dealership and changed it. No light back on yet, what should I do if it comes on again? That's the only code that comes up. Do I need to reprogram it? Thankssssss!

No. Per the FSM, Error means:There is a gap between angle of target and phase-control angle degree, Possible causes for p0014 Crankshaft position sensor (POS) • Camshaft position sensor (PHASE) • Exhaust valve timing control position sensor • Exhaust valve control solenoid valve • Accumulation of debris to the signal pickup portion of the camshaft • Timing chain installation • Foreign matter caught in the oil groove for exhaust valve timing control
