PDA not in the DSM? I don't care. Here's why.

PDA is a profile of Autism not yet widely recognized in the United States. PDA stands for Persistent Drive for Autonomy (social model of disability) or Pathological Demand Avoidance (pathologized medical model).
PDA is not currently in the DSM. The DSM is problematic for many reasons. Not being in the DSM does not mean a condition does not exist. For that matter, being IN the DSM doesn't mean something is a disease.
