Im a second generation fan. My son is turning into the third. My dad was very good friends with the guy that drove the medicine man. I used to love going to visit uncle ray and aunt pat at their house. We would go out to the garages and as a kid , i was in heaven man! He would always be getting ready to go racing on the weekends. He sed to do the work on my dads race car. He drove a 70 coronet r/t 440. I remember a few burnouts in the alleys!

Being 76 and growing up in Central Michigan I grew up with all of these cars and raced many of them in my L78 Corvette and then my L78 Camaro. Enjoyed many of these memories but it’s unfortunate how sloppy the AI is. Correction on the Z11 as in those days it was a mid 11 second car. I remember going to the 66 nationals in Indy and watching Sox and Martin win with their hemi Cuda and marvel that my dead stock C8 Z06 Corvette runs faster and I drive it home with air conditioner. That’s how much Cars changed the 60s. Also, the quarter-mile time on the AMC is way off as no true super stock AMC ever went in the tens and I doubt even that an A/FX class AMX ever went that fast if one even exists.

Not sure where you got your “facts” from but as usual you guys that weren’t even alive when these cars came out, love to make up crap and then post it online. You can’t even get the little things right exposes your lack of knowledge about these cars, an example of a little thing is you call the 1963 Z11 Chevy Impala a ZED11. NOBODY back then called ANY of “Z” model cars like the Z28 or the ZL1 ZED that’s something that the European car buff wannabes today like to call these cars. Please post a picture of any Chevy performance car with the name ZED on the side of it. There’s no point in calling you out on the supposed times these cars ran or the quickest time that a super stock AMC AMX ran. Your post is only a day old and I feel confident that this particular super stock AMX can bet the record time you claim with a couple of plug wires pulled.
