Hi I dont have a serger/overlocker, would it be ok to replace with a zig zag stitch?

Hi! Yes, sure! You can use a zigzag stitch to overcast the raw edges of the fabric. That will work perfectly as a replacement for a serger.

Good video and a nice pair of shorts, however, you need to do get some cuticle cream because some of your nails are terrible and let your hands down.
