Crazy how the history books have emphasised the importance of certain aircraft whilst pretty much ignoring others. The PE2 was a very important and capable aircraft at this point in the war, but we hardly hear of it.

Good video as always. Quick question: When you are in the lead aircraft and in, let's say line echelon right formation, do you set up your bomb run so your aircraft is flying to the left side of the target, or do you ideally aim for centre and everything else works itself out?

in that scenario you would line up left of the target as you outline. im usually doing the bomb drop in V formation so i try to aim for centre, but of course, the wind sometimes has other ideas!

Presumably the same applies if, say, flying line astern the lead pilot would aim to release at the far end of the target to allow for the effect of the formation. All the best
