This has become a Florida national sport. During the Olympics 2010 I met Florida volunteers that told me they personally were told to leave a house or they would get killed. The crew then removed anything of scrap value, which is why you can't leave these homes alone.

@anniebay384410 жыл бұрын
If houses have been left like that for 5 years plus then the owners should be responsible to keep it in good condition or sell it! People should not have to walk past or live near a house that has been left in that condition!!! The owners should be charged a fee to leave a house looking in that state!
@madskyltd11 жыл бұрын
i would love to buy a house like this - a 'fix-eruper' and restore it. take along an air compressor to pressurize the waterlines (to see if the fixtures leak, plubing or pipes missing, etc) and a generator to back feed the electrical system to test outlets and such to see if wiring hs been ripped out. where does one find information on houses like THIS anyhow? drop me an email, seriously
@LCbabyxO11 жыл бұрын
the truth is, you can see houses like these all over Florida.. so many homes have gone into fore closure.. :( if you look in the right communities, youll see mansions abandoned after the housing market crashed.

It was purchased in 1997 for $15,700 and is now on the market for $180,000? That's a tidy little profit. How much upgrading was invested? It didn't look like it would take a lot. I don't understand why the banks/owners don't stick someone in those homes to live free of rent and just pay utilities. If someone was energetic enough, start a business - get few friends together and market their services to the banks. Have a group of houses, keep the lawn mowed, move cars around, stay random nights at the homes so they look lived in. What a joke that management company was - put a note on the door saying yeah it's empty and no one is going to bother you, go on in. Or put working homeless in the houses.

I'm just wondering with so many homeless families in America why are there so many empty houses?!?!? You guys need to sort out your government big time lol
@ccraisins20057 жыл бұрын
Millions of homeless people in this country, and our banks just let these houses sit and rot. They could create jobs by hiring people to fix these places up, then they could rent them out to low income families or sell them at a reasonable price. Might not be the amount they once got for it but would be better than just sitting around being an eye sore.

Give me the address of that house. I'll go take it over as a squatter and keep it from falling into ruins.
@RoMayDrako12 жыл бұрын
This is why I support squaters. But squatters with conditions. 1. They regishter with the city, and you know city can make money with a smallf ee. 2. They take care of the house and any bills that occur from water electricity wand what not. 3. They agree to GTFO once the house is sold IF the house is sold. Should a large amount of years go by without no one they should be allowed a chance to own it. Would solve low income housing issues.

thers a musican that buys and restores houses in florida what is his name? you should email this one too him he may buy it from the current owner .
@Jencifer138 жыл бұрын
You're thinking of Robert VanWinkle/Vanilla Ice. He wasn't much of a musician, and he's a bit of a goober, but his restoration projects are extensive and those restorations, while not my taste, result in some quite upscale homes/properties. The show is called The Vanilla Ice Project (I think) and it airs on DiY network.

theres so many homeless people over there they should put them to good use the gment should buy them and put people in there what a waste
@clray12310 жыл бұрын
The house still belongs to someone (creditors) and has (diminishing) market value. It's not "free for the taking". If homeless people moved in, the owner would likely lose their only chance to ever reclaim any value of it. If moving in homeless people was such a good idea to increase or keep the property's value, you can be sure the owners would have done it. Besides, a little more is required for a homeless person to survive than just a big empty deteriorating house. Food and medicine, for example. If buying foreclosed properties and giving them away was such a good business for government, you can also be sure they would be doing it. The reality is that it's a lot cheaper to keep homeless people in public housing (or on the street if they prefer).
@clray12310 жыл бұрын
***** The point is that the problem doesn't lie in the scarcity of room, just as unemployment is not caused by scarcity of work. It is embarrassing to admit, but the problem is, I dare say in most cases, the people, their (lack of) skill, their beliefs, attitudes etc.
@anniebay384410 жыл бұрын
clray123 leaving a property in that condition would not increase the property's position at all! It is not in a good condition, it needs a new kitchen, new windows, gardener, new pool, new water etc... it wouldn't even rent out in that condition!!
@clray1238 жыл бұрын
Leaf Pebble Yes, but it's still better than having squatters in it. If it falls apart completely (demolition also costs serious money), you can at least utilize the land.

@dkhill2711 жыл бұрын
Why don't the city or bank or who ever. Rent these places out. At least try to make money on it. Just sitting there like that is loosing money big time!! Rent it out to low income family's or anyone. Just have them fix it up and keep it maintained. Simple
@ns244311 жыл бұрын
No, you're not thinking about the utility bills. A low income family would not be able to keep up with the various bills of living in that sized house. Even if they pay rent they could afford, owners would be paying out of pocket for some things, taxes, maintenance, lawn/pest care. That would be like paying people to live in your home.
@jaydenandaverysmom10 жыл бұрын
Do you really think low income people care about keeping a house like that "nice",no! they let their kids and pets ruin things that they don't own,because they don't care!!!
