The inclusion of classical pieces composed much later than during the Renaissance was truly an inspired decision, convincingly demonstrating that the lute is not an instrument limited to playing only Renaissance music. Two works of note are especially worth mentioning: the lute transcription of the "Passacaglia" from "The Rosary Sonatas" (composed for violin) by Heinrich Ignaz Franz Von Biber (@ 3:02:31) and, the transcription of the well-known and very beautiful "Dance of the Blessed Spirits" (@ 2:45:15) composed by Christoph Willibald Gluck. Sincere thanks to BGM for expading our notion of what this marvelous instrument can do in the right (and left) hands, like those of the virtuosi on this extraordinary music video.
