Consider head mounting the camera. With clear water like this and with trees under the surface it's really neat to get to have more of a downward angle and see the things in the water. It's also nice to see more of the bow as the kayak slices through the water as well as seeing the paddle dipping in and out of the water. You also have more control over what's in frame simply by moving your head.

Yes, there's a beautiful hiking trail around the lake through old growth forests. We did it the next day. Highly recommended.

Always great production value on your vids. The best videography and the best sound track... I don't say that lightly. I'm in the business. The wife and I are avid kayakers but, living in Canada our paddling season is short, so I drive myself crazy watching what I can't do.
