I finished M11 on Mercenary difficulty yesterday without using post game planes, and I have to say that, the hardest part was probably trying to turn fight the Crimson Squadron, but I manage to do it

I figured that if you can't out turn them, just don't turn as much, try and conserve as much speed or as much maneuverability as possible. Be a lance that shoots through one side of the hornets nest and out the other, or a flying bus that they hopelessly fly pass because they become too agile at a point, leading to you being able to just shoot at them sorta like a helicopter. For both of these tactics I like using either the F/A 18 or Harrier

I love the contrast between this intro when you fight them over the Bearing strait as opposed to the first one over Yellowstone. The first intro clearly was to showcase the power of the Crimson Peacekeepers and especially Crimson 1. Hence his theme being part of the intro. But here when you fight them a second time, there's less tension and that ominous feeling as by that point you as you've grown more confident in your skills to take them down. Now the intro still contains a little of that apprehension but also anticipation in shooting them down

Whoever installed a microwave in my fighter jet was a goddanmed genius. Holy shit, look at those utensils go, they're so fucking bright. Hey, when we're done, can we go microwave some more forks? It'll be hilarious-oh god, that camera has such good zoom. Prolonged exposure to the upper atmosphere has opened our eyes to the holy sparkiness of the microwave oven, specifically metal inside it, and you're looking awfully lot like a spoon right now.

It's most likely the other way around, but yeah, there is a shared leitmotif between the two.

For my past 5 replays of PW, every time I down the first or second Peacekeeper in Cold War, the missile connects and kills the aircraft exactly at 2:31. Nothing compares to the rush of adrenaline and sheer awe every time it happens. I dont know if its something thats programmed to happend (make the AI kill itself to generate the moment) or just me doing it subconsiously, but the feeling is always the same. The moment you realize the Peacekeepers can bleed, they can be shot down, and the second bruise to Crimson 1 that snowball into something much worse down the line. As timeless as AC´s music.
