The first few times I played, I felt stupid for even trying. The claws didn't grab at all. And the gems aren't that cheap, considering one game costs you 120 gems.. 2 days ago I bought gems worth 30 usd. I won a hatsune miku figure. Took me about 5-6 tries to get her. Yesterday I won a neko XL plushie with 3 tries. The machine grabbed it perfectly fine from the beginning. I was very surprised it actually worked that well. I just try to watch how others play and learn from them. The lag is really bad in the EU but when you listen to the sound carefully you can get a feeling for the distance you make. Usually I set my limit to 5 tries.

I really wanted to like Tokyocatch. The prizes & shipping is great. I won a lot of awesome plush on there without getting burned too badly. But lately the connection issues and lag make things so frustrating and almost impossible. (There was not these issues back in May/June.)It costs a lot just to win a prize & its because of lag/connection/crane malfunction. Gem refunds are annoying cause you're in this obnoxious loop of playing, game malfunctioning, spending more to win, refund, playing again, etc. Don't even get me started on getting kicked out of the game when you're about to win. Snipers are there in full force, and while sniping is OK if a player honestly had no idea how to proceed, getting kicked and a sniper stealing your plush you were about to get in 1 more turn, over and over is a bit disgusting. It has happened to me at least 5-6 times. And we all know theres a bit of luck to these things, so while I get my gems back, theres no guarantee I will actually win something with the refunded gems. I'm not sure if the connection is on their end or mine (i assume its them if you're awarded refunds?) But I heard from others on a FB group they have the same issues I have. Lately they've been making the claws weaker where there is only 1 sweet spot to hit and you must hit it everytime exactly right. 2.50 a play is a bit expensive for all these cons. Before they'd have a little more wiggle room for winning. Customer service is hit and miss. I had a plush stuck on a claw but they did not honor that win and wouldn't give me a refund, but they have refunded gems if you get kicked and someone else wins, but even then they can choose not to refund which has happened to me as well. I ended up deciding to quit playing the app. 👎
